Typical English Media

What do you get when you mix bitterness with smugness?
The answer is British media and there view on any major sporting event held outside the UK!

Ever since we lost out in the World Cup bid and held a successful Olympic Games the media have taken every opportunity to put down any other countries efforts!

If it isn't the crime rates of Brazil then it's high temperatures of Qatar!

The media spend plenty of time praising London 2012 and lambasting ever other event but let's look at the 'Olympic Legacy' and how it has been such a huge success.

Several fundings have been taken away from sports, the introduction of new sports to our shores such as handball have seen no help to be established in this country and I know of at least 2 Leisure centres that were base camps for the Olympics that would be shut now if the general public had not protested against the decision!

I will not cover the direction that the OS is heading as I do not want this to turn into a Maf vs Spurs debate but I will cover the downturn in the fortunes of Crystal Palace athletics venue (the original home of British athletics) that has been left to ruin by the Legacy!

So can I suggest the media do not throw propaganda out so freely when the Legacy has not been the all singing and all dancing that we like to show it off to be!
