But as its a forum for sharing views, i responded to the comments made, is that OK?

Where are the insults DJ, claiming the argument is bullshít you mean? Maybe if any one of you conceded just one point then we wouldn't have these arguments, but that will never happen.

Even Perton, despite his muppet mick nonsense has no issue acknowledging the good work mick has done, likewise Wolfie and myself, bloody hell, i didn't even want Mick sacked til about November time.

But will we ever see any of you concede that Mick made numerous errors and failed at certain aspects of the job? Will we bollócks!!

You choose to focus on every fault you can find about McCarthy, I choose to remember him as the best manager we have had in the last thirty years and give the justified respect that goes with that.
Sorry if that isn't convenient to you, whatever that means

When did he acknowledge the good work, Cinci? Must have missed this! The last comment that I saw from perton, he was dismissing, not the last two years, but three years of Wolves' history so that would include Mick's second season in the Prem .

For what it's worth, my view is that Mick made numerous errors during his tenure at Wolves. Which one of us doesn't in our work! However there is no disputing the fact that he got more right than wrong, hence promotion to the Prem as champions and staying there for three seasons for the ONLY time in our history.
He was sacked at the wrong time, as subsequent events have shown. Whether he should have gone sooner or later is a moot point. He didn't!
He will go down as one of the best managers in Wolves' history. Compared with his successors (Connor, Solbakken and Saunders) Mick's stock has risen further. Look what a clusterf22k they made of working under the same regime and conditions at Wolves!

I am pleased that our slide has been halted by Jackett and we look odds on to be promoted this season. This was to have been expected and the real work starts next season. Jackett has started well and built up a large proportion of goodwill amongst the Wolves fan base, however this is at a much lower level than Mick was working and he has got a good way to go to be compared with McCarthy. I hope he makes it, but remain sceptical that he will get us to the Prem in the next 3 or 4 years. Truly hope that I am being overly pessimistic, but time will tell.

I agree with everything you said there Cyp.

No one has ever said Mick didn't make mistakes. People have even agreed that he made some poor signings. However, everyone else seems to look at the bigger picture and other factors such as wage budgets and overall spend. You just need to look at the players Mick targeted and we missed out on for those reasons to acknowledge this was also a factor and inhibited us in the transfer market.

Cinci ignores all of this and places the blame solely with Mick. Anyone who brings these factors up is talking bullsh*t. Maybe he could have done better with the money he spent, but no one can argue he wasn't restricted. I also bet that there was not one person on here who did think Johnson and O'Hara were good signings and would help move the club forward. No one could have predicted the impact they actually had.

I will continue to remember Mick fondly for all the good he did. If Cinci chooses to do the opposite then that's his problem. Personally, I think that's a bit sad. I warned him that he was turning into Perton earlier, well now he is even defending Perton I think he's a lost cause.

Whole-heartedly agree - especially the reference to the "seeing the bigger picture". Perhaps that's the main difference. Some folk don't have that ability.

When McCarthy was sacked we were 18th in the top flight. No other manager had taken us to a higher position than that since 1980. So even if we forget the turn around he made in his first season, and forget the championship winning season, and forget him taking us to 15th in his first season for us in the premier league, and forget keeping us in there for a third season, he was still our best manager in a generation.

And until we find someone that does better I will continue to recognise that achievement
