If I was the manager of the England football team this is the squad of players I would take to win us our 2nd world cup.
Hart
Forster
Foster
Johnson
Clyne
Jones
Cahill
Jagielka
Terry
Shaw
Gibbs
Sterling
Lallana
Barry
Gerrard
Lampard
Wilshere
Horrenderson
Chamberlain
Rooney
Sturridge
Welbeck
Rodriguez
On standby
Green
Smalling
Baines
Carrick
Milner
Townsend
Defoe
My squad full of pace, technical ability and power. England would make out of their group and get to the quarters, maybe semi's. At least we would play entertaining football if we go out instead of boring our way to another exit. Go out with a bang and who knows if ladyluck on our side we may even win the world cup. Barkley isnt ready in my opinion and Morrison has lost the plot again sadly. If I was Woy I would order the Ferdinand sisters and the FA to get on their knees and beg Terry out of retirement. Terry is our best defender by a mile and crucial to our hopes.
Hart
Clyne Jones Terry Shaw
Sterling Gerrard Wilshere Chamberlain
Rooney Sturridge
Play that team we would smash both Uruguay and Italy.

Lampard shouldn't be near that plane.

If he is good enough to play regular games for Chelsea then he is good enough for England.

Terry should never be considered for England on a matter of general principal.

I actually like Clyne as a player, I think he does have the potential. However, he should not be in this WC squad. One for the future if he develops at a decent rate.

I agree on Clyne but think its rediculous to suggest that he would start in a WC as the OP does.
Aquaman I agree on that team but would switch Rooney and Lallana

I know Rooney would like to play more central, and in reality Rooney will get either the CF position or centrally behind the striker. However, Lallana is a very classy player and I think the team would benefit as a whole with him in the 'Kaka' role... If this system was applied then you could see Rooney, Lallana and Sterling rotating behind Sturridge to make it a fluidic formation. Well we would if we didn't have Hodgson as manager.
