Big shout out to Watnall who kindly asked me about 40 minutes ago to get this MT launched.....
.....big commiserations to Heb and Cat who will be drinking spirits or summat while we are at the Florest match... and Mojaca who will be train-spotting this afternoon.....
Millwall, the occasion of Connor Sammon's goal last season - Connor will incidentally start today and our....OK..... my best wishes go with him
Millwall will be looking for anything out of this game and will come equipped (11 players plus subs). I worry when you lot predict massive victories, hence my typically under-played forecast on Geezer's thread.
Will George get a game or a run out? Will Forsyth continue his good/excellent form(Ha! alot of you DIDN'T see THAT)? Will Bryson be back?

Derby County 0 - 1 Millwall

For some weeks Wisdom has been declining in his performances. He created nothing today and, although I was at the far end and didn't see the detail and haven't watched TFLS yet - didn't the goal come from their left wing. ( I suspect Wisdom has little interest in DCFC).
Also Bryson was headless and his dead ball kicks were mainly woeful. Hughes put in a big effort but was not that good as holding MF.
Sammon got no service and arrived just too late for one decent cross from our left.
Keogh was not bad - Jake was MOTM - Forsyth was ok but not many whipped in crosses. Bamford is largely a waste of space because he doesn't care what happens to Derby. He thinks he's there just to get goal-scoring practice.
I'm afraid we have to mark this down to SMcL's team selection forced on him perhaps by that crazy referee's decision last week. You could argue that decision has cost us a crucial 6 points. I think we would have beaten Burnley if Martin had stayed on the pitch and the goal allowed. You could also argue we would have beaten Millwall if Martin had started today.

This will start the brickbats but I honestly do not believe that Sammon desrves the vitriolic coming his way - it is not fair.
Sammon got no service from a midfield struggling to keep up, he did what he did best but was getting no favours from his colleagues. I agree that Bamford and Wisdom CAN be good and often sublime but maybe we need to put Derby County's interests first.
The loss yesterday was nasty and unexpected but as early as the 10th minute I said to 15YO - "you watch they will nick a goal and it will be 1-0 to Millwall". Very similar to Yeovil, Bournemouth and Sheff Weds - we should not have won those games - we did and now our karma has come into play and given a very nasty nip/kick on/in our nethers.

No brickbats for Sammon from me. The of- form ones were Bamford, Wisdom, Bryson and Russell. But I guess veryone is allowed the odd off game. There were just too many and Millwall's tactics were just what was needed.
But for Holloway to claim his players were not time-wasting.................... Well!

Sammon in form is as bad as everyone else off form.
He is not a Championship striker/forward, and certainly not upper Championship as we're supposed to be. At least now he can't say he hasn't had his chances.

Little harsh there 666 - Sammon does a job for the team and he does it well. In my view, he's improved massively since coming to Derby, and he's as well suited to this league as anyone else is.

666 I agree Sammon offers nothing. He can't time a jump hell he can't jump. Embarrassing. Yes others were as bad as Sammon yesterday and I agree about Wisdom as well I think he's been shocking starting at Sheff Wednesday away. The problem yesterday in the main was we had no fluidity, we tried to lump balls up first half and shittu ate them instead of running behind him. Too predictable and millwall had a game plan which they stuck to.
It happens but the management team need to instil some self belief back into the players.

It's a shame we played Millwall after the Oscars as they would have smashed the best actor award.
Did anyone else see their player injured off the pitch in front of the east stand?
He looked up as the play was carrying on and rolled onto the pitch to stop play!
It would have been comical if it wasn't so disgusting!

Simon I agree Millwall wasted more time and I did see the player roll back on. Righteous indignation aside, let's be honest here, that didn't change the result or the fact that derby didn't do enough to win.
