Blackpool : a brief history
Founded in 26th July 1887
Won the FA Cup in the 1953 ( Mathews final )
Last Time in Blackpool.
A very wet night in September 2012 in front of the Sky cameras.
We won 3-1 with goals from Novak, Vaughan & Norwood, that was when Town were flying .... on the crest of a wave from promotion.
At the John Smith's ............
Another televised game , a 1-1 draw again in September, Blackpool were top 6, look at them now !
As the form table suggests both Town and Blackpool are not doing the best at the moment, Blackpool have 3 points from 6 games , Town have 7 points.
Infact Blackpool have only won one league since November.
Are we just running down the clock until the summer ? If we are, then Robins needs to grab a few people by the balls and tell them about professional pride and about playing for our club and our fans. !
I was shocked to hear that we had the same number of points after 36 games as last season, Have we progreessed ? I don't know?
What i do know is that there are at least 6 clubs who aren't as good as us and we should stay up ( yippee !
Famous previous encounters
Saturday 13th August 1994
Blackpool 1 Town 4
Paul Reid 2 , Rocket Ronnie 2,
The start of our promotion season !
Prediction : Who knows with Town> I'm going for a 3-2 win to Town
Blackpool 1 Huddersfield Town 0

Don't be ridiculous Eggy.
The football is TERRIBLE, as confirmed this last few weeks, and in the main against sides at the lower end of the League.
It is Robins team.
He's had plenty of time,
There has been no change,
Who in their right mind would play Wells up front on his own ? week in week out. against struggling teams.
Yeah right, Plenty of ambition there then

Darn,
Do you mean like:
Town 5 - Bournemouth 1
Town 5 - Yeovil 1
Town 5 - Barnsley 0
Town 2 - Burnley 1
Town 1 - Wigan 0
Because I can't see much pure folly in that little lot?

Just look over the last few games then,
And the slow slide down the league. Instead of just 'cherry picking' the best scores you can seek out over the season.
How about
v Leeds
v Blackburn
v Charlton
v Doncaster
v Blackpool.........not much 'joy' in that little lot either.

Darn,
How do you mean?
We beat Leeds 3-2, Charlton 2-1 at home and drew 0-0
away, drew 0-0 away at Blackburn, 0-0 at home to Doncaster and 1-1 at home against Blackpool.
So, I make it 10 points out of the 18 contested and not a single defeat, which aint bad in any bodies language.

Astounding Mirf
More 'cherry picking'......
Not in this last months fixtures though eh !
We once won the League three times in a row...But hardly relevant to how we are performing at the moment.
Now...
Did you, or did you not say.
That the game was tripe, & you should have gone shopping with the wife

Darn,
v Leeds (Played em off the park first half - weird game)
v Blackburn (Best team by far - 2 centre backs & keeper lost us the game)
v Charlton (Dominating game till Hammill got crocked)
v Doncaster (We were pants)
v Blackpool

The football isn't TERRIBLE either - toothless sometimes okay - you been watching it?

Same points as last season so far, it's a good job there are 6 worse teams than us this year.

Darn,
Of course I said what you say above, but so what? If it's a crap match I'll say so and recently we've seen a few poor performances, although injuries to key players haven't helped our cause.
We are currently going through a bad spell which most teams experience at some point through the season. Just look at Forest who were world beaters a couple of month back and looked promotion favourites after going 14 games unbeaten and collecting 27 points. However, thing have rapidly gone down hill over their last 7 matches without a single win and only 3 points collected.
So, loss of form can happen to the best in this league and Town are no different.
My main gripe is that the players don't appear to be capable of carrying out the Managers game plan for whatever reason and Robins needs to sort it out quick.

It's harsh to say Robins' team has been rubbish...we were doing fine this season up to and including QPR away.. Since then, we've performed poorly against -
Charlton (H) Cup
Leeds (A) ..2nd half
Forest (H)
Sheffield Wed (H)
Donny (A)
Blackburn (H)
Blackpool (A)
In and amongst those games we beat -
Wigan 1-0
Birmingham 2-1
Barnsley 5-0
and had a draw at Charlton..
that's a 12 game period since QPR...we played 25 games before that and most of those we were well pleased with, not all, but most.
So get some perspective..it's just a rough patch while we've had Lynch, Vaughan and Paterson injured..and the fact Captain Calamity has come back into the fold
We're not the only club who have only won one of our last 6 games....
3 points tonight and we're 100% safe...time to bring in the young 'uns
