Maybe a chance for Mata behind Rooney?
Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is ruled out of Saturday's game at West Ham United because of injury, manager David Moyes says.
Van Persie, 30, was stretchered off with a knee injury in the closing stages after scoring a Champions League hat-trick against Olympiakos on Wednesday.
"We are getting him re-scanned again today because there was nothing conclusive," says Moyes at his his pre-match news conference. "He won't be available for tomorrow's game. We will give you an update as soon as we can."

Can't remember who it was against but I seem to remember Buttner's last game for us was probably the best game he has had for us

Overall he had a good game. However, you are looking at 1 in 3 crosses being absolutely perfect and the other 2 going into the stands. Amazing that he obviously can whip a great ball in but the times he doesn't they are incredibly bad!

This is true. He put about 3 really great balls into the box and the rest were terrible. However, that is still better than Evra and all of our wingers, so I really don't see the issue. Rafael is the only wide player that we have that can cross to an acceptable level right now.

I seem to remember him being fairly reasonable defensively too

Yeh he had a decent game, yet the usual suspects were on here, slating his performance and saying that he isn't good enough for United on the basis that some of his crosses were wayward. They totally ignored the fact that he did well at the back and put in some excellent crosses. It wasn't a great performance, but probably better than anything Evra has managed for the last 3-4 months.

Evans in midfield? What is the point? We need some quality CMs and there is no point looking at a CB in that position at this point with only a few games left of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Defensive Midfielder, where we have been over-run, and if u watch Evans he's comfortable on the ball and can spot a pass .......

I just don't see the point at this stage in the season. We have already done this with Jones, why look to convert another CB? It is time to get some top class CMs in and let the players were have play where they are supposed to.

Seems to be a club trait .... buying players and then playing them in an alien position ... Kagawa, Fellani,Mata, Smalling and Jones for example.....None of which play in what could be described their natural/preferred position

Welbeck up top, Mata behind him, Rooney inside left.
