Martin Skrtel!

The lad deserves more credit for his performances. He has been not only solid at the back ( a couple shakey moments ) but he has been the mainstay in our defence whilst most of our defenders have been injured or out of form. He has got himself on the score card 6 times and has 1 assist this season. He seems to have cut out his shirt tugging the past few games too ( Maybe BR has had a word with him? ).

there have been a lot of injuries to the back 4 this year and even some experimental formations

too hard to form a solid opinion - not enough to really base it on

I don't buy the 2 Left footed CB's cannot play together.

-----------------------

It depends on the players doesn't it. I actually struggle to see which of those two will play on the right, not because they're left footed, but because of the way they tackle, how they are on the ball and how weak they are with their right foot. Players like Hyypia, Terry, even Carra have played of the opposite side and done it with ease. They are all very comfortable on their left foot though.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I seem to remember Terry throwing a hissy fit one time for England because he couldn't play on "his" side. I think it was the last world cup while paired with Upson. Pretty sure that's what they put our shambolic defending down to, and the media actually bought it.

I'm pretty sure he made a big deal about the fact that it was his wrong side and that's why he was like bambi on ice.

Terry has never looked all that convincing for England

Rio & Sol were the bees knees

Agree re Terry and England.

If it were possible I would have him back for the World Cup though. Terry & Cahill would be infinitely better than any other potential duo.

Terry has been good for England, certainly better than Rio Ferdinand. Ferdinand is a disaster waiting to happen every game. He only began to cut out those mistakes when he was older and lost the other attribute which made him decent, pace.

Not true.

Ferdinand was brilliant 2002-2006 sort of time.
