I'm not particularly sure that Neil Lennon (Celtic) or Ally McCoist (Rangers) are all that good as football managers.
I think the main argument for their respective clubs keeping them is that they've already invested so much time in them, having given them the gig a few years back and stuck with them to date, plus the clubs are secure in knowing that either are hardly going to move somewhere else.
I think with Lennon I sometimes understand it better. There are no obvious people who'd take over and be better. Paul Lambert and (don't laugh) David Moyes may be ex-Celts and better coaches but I hardly see them moving back to Scottish football.
With Ally McCoist, I'd see Terry Butcher, Derek McInnes and Stuart McCall as ALL better managers, all in Scotland and all with smaller clubs! You'd think Rangers must feel tempted somewhere down the line...
What do you guys think? Do you think either club could make a managerial move or would that be mad?
