BBCs sports day live just wrote this nonsense;
The local derby. A game football fans across the world immediately look for when fixture lists are announced. The two games a season that, perhaps above all other, fans want to see their side win.
It is the chance to claim local bragging rights and walk around feeling that little bit taller and tonight, for thousands of fans in the north west of England, it is the biggest derby of them all. Manchester United v Manchester City.
We will have all the build-up to what promises to be an absolute cracker of a contest right here in Sportsday Live.
Biggest of them all!?!?
Really?
The mind beggars belief. I'm glad I left the UK paying a license fee to this mob would leave anyone insane
Biggest derby in the north west?

Yep. City were completely irrelevant till the oil money. United Liverpool was the bigger game. City fans I suppose saw it as their big game, but little clubs always look forward to playing the big boys.

Liverpool vs Utd is a bigger game for Utd fans isn't it!

For many years the games I, as a United fan, looked for were versus Arsenal, Newcastle, Blackburn, Chelsea. Basically our title rivals over the years. So yes City is a big game but considering we're not in the running for the title it is not as big as they are trying to make out!

United/City has always been the game for Mancunians, there was a competitive rivalry way before many on here were born believe it or not.

Scousers was more of hate game rather than rivalry!
Although its weird that we are underdogs in this game sadly at OT.

Yes of course there has always been the local rivalry but this article was talking of a game that fans Worldwide look to! I'd suggest those would have been the title deciding games.
