Undisclosed Fees

Hi guys,

I see that Steve Morison has moved to Norwich for an undisclosed fee.

This is not the only transfer that has caught my eye, and the majority of transfers are announced for an undisclosed fee.

I was just wondering, in this day and age of "financial transparenty" within football, if anyone knew how or why undisclosed fees are still allowed.

Surely it should be enforced that clubs announce how much a player has cost them?

Cantle - I think TIM's point is actually that we do know how much he cost, or at least we think we do: £2m rising to £3m.

Therefore people want £2m worth of striker for their money and they haven't had it, so they get frustrated with him. If he'd cost us £200k rising to £300k, it wouldn't matter so much.

This is one reason why I don't like paying over the odds for any player.

The cruellest place re fees is the dressing room -and the training pitch. They know the figures -and the worth!

I am sure that last season poor old Waggy would have taken some stick as his touch, turn and technique - the famous three "T's" were exposed on the practice sets.
Look at ther players on loan from premier clubs -knowing Waggys fee - and watching him train! Their banter would never stop!... and he would know

Still we made Sunderland smile!

I can just imagine the barracking of "Is that worth £2m then?" and the like being directed at him, light-heartedly but still there - and particularly if he wasn't getting a game it could be tough for him. I think we saw the expectations first hand on the pitch: Waghorn's game was basically to make space and shoot from anywhere with as much power as possible. Unfortunately the ball generally ended up in row Z.

Whether Sven can remedy this over the summer, I don't know; but he needs some hard technical and tactical training if he wants to make a go of it next season.

Dunge, to an extent then, surely if the fee was less than being touted, the club should release that, so fans dont expect £2million's worth of entertainment.

In some respects, I think the mass morons that sit in L Block would be chanting waggy's name had he cost us £35million, not scored for 8 years and been on 100k a week.

But with another player that's not a fans favourite - Say we sign Neil Danns - Undisclosed fee. Sky sports touts the fee to be £2million. Fans are wanting a big return on the lad. Actual fee £750,000. In that situation, or any situation, where you pay less than the speculated amount, releasing the amount would be good.

So do all Canary fans!

It's undisclosed for one simple reason, you paid them 12 carrots, 14 cabbages and 13 beetroots.

You got a decent player and they got some proper food which the fine folk of Bermondsey have being crying out for (you see they only ever eat jellied eels, which is not exactly an healthy diet now is it?)

Now there's a guy with a vegetable fixation!

Of course, we can't move a few metres without tripping over a carrot. We even build our houses out of them.
