I don't know if you guys have seen this article yet, but it is interesting to say the least. Seeing as it is Goal.com its reliability isn't the best, so it might not be 100% true. Here are some extracts from the article which caught my eye the most.
"The award of a six-year contract was essentially a PR play, with Moyes' contractual terms including a break clause that enables the Americans to sack him at far less than the full salary costs of that term."
I was never aware at any point that there was such a clause in David Moyes' contract, if it is in fact true, this will make it more easier to sack him in the summer without having to fork out a large sum. It really does show how little faith the Glazers had in him from the start, probably even less than some of the posters on here, confirming that Sir Alex was probably the only reason that Moyes got the job. I never wanted Moyes from the start, but surely this absolutely diminishes the argument of "Sacking Moyes will be too expensive".
"Characteristic of such problems was Moyes instructing the team to employ a 4-3-3 formation against City at Old Trafford after preparing to play a 4-4-2 in pre-derby training sessions."
If this part is even remotely true, I think Moyes deserves to be sacked on the spot. I wouldn't be surprised by this at all considering how woeful we were against City and I wouldn't blame the players at all for not wanting to play for him.
Here have a read of the article for yourself, I'd like to see your thoughts on the matter

Been telling everyone for ages there has to be break clauses in his contract. I think it hinges on CL qualification hence the need to sack him at the end of the season so it doesn't cost as much.
BTW if that 442 in training carry on is true I'm surprised the players didn't tell him to do one.

Trust me his contract will have some performance related clauses in it.
The Glazers are not stupid

It is more than likely about the clauses, Benched but on the whole this story is probably 99% guess work made up of things we have all said on here but printing them as fact...

I guess time will tell come June. I'd be amazed if the Glazers are willing to hand Moyes the sums bandied about on here/in the papers.

I don't disagree that there will be clauses. All I am saying is that I am 99.9999999% sure that the journos at Goal.Com are not privy to the fine details of Moyes' contract.

firstly, yes, there quite likely is a break-clause. but I doubt it would come into effect so early into it. much more likely to be at the end of the second season, or halfway through the contract, ie the end of the third season.
as for issues with the formation, come on, these are supposedly professional footballers at one of the biggest clubs in the country. they should be using various different formations in training. and they should have no problems playing in any formation, even if the change is made mid-game.
any professional footballer who cannot cope with a change of formation should be sacked immediately.
moyes does come across as not having anything left in the way of ideas/tactics (and he didn't really seem to have much of either to start with), which wouldn't really inspire any confidence in him from the players, but the inability of these players to provide any effort or ability in games cannot all be put down to moyes.

So all the players off form at the same time is down to what then?

lack of the Fergie fear factor. They are obviously not being given a roasting after poor performances and therefore taking their feet of the pedal. Which, before you say it MUDD, is down to the manager and his motivation.
