They said earlier on Spanish radio that Barça would offer him a contract extension, but haven't heard any confirmation of that. Surgery and recovery are fully paid for of course, I imagine they have insurance for that sort of stuff.

He's a european citizen, he can come here for a private consultancy then get the op with the same surgeon on the NHS...

Seems (one of) the top surgical teams for knee injuries is in Germany right now. That's where Valdés is going, that's where Jesé went to have his ACL repaired earlier this month.
