Interesting stuff......

A good solid point away from home today. Much better performance.

In my opinion, a manager would be on to a win win by signing with us now.
Do a half decent job & you're in the play offs! Don't make it.... Well look at all the injuries.....
It would also give them a few months to work with the squad whilst waiting for the 'big guns' to return.

On the manager front..... I read a couple of interesting articles today. Firstly Neil warnock's piece:

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/neil-warnock-i-could-have-got-nottingham-forest-promoted-into-the-premier-league-9222568.html

It gives a good insight into what fawaz's mentality towards 'interfering' in team selection is. The good thing about the article is (even though its supposed to be a bit negative toward fawaz), it basically backs up exactly what fawaz said to us all. He gives his opinion and that's it.

The other one:
http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-id-walk-down-m6-land-nottingham-forest-job-claims-reid-14032885363

Peter Reid saying how amazing forest are

In short. We have a man who owns us that tells the truth. In my opinion he possibly tells too much truth to too many people. But hey, he cares & he's passionate about our club. Can't be a bad thing!!

If Peter Reid walks down the M6 to Nottingham he'll miss it by about 50 miles, which, coincidentally, is how far Cox tends to miss the net by.

He's not got a car then?

Peter Reid cited the anger he felt when Derby fans cruelly misappropriated the copyrighted 'cheer up Peter Reid' chant and substituted his name for fellowe grumpy c.nt Billy Davies.#

He said I'd love it to go to Forest, just so Derby fans could know who the original chant was meant for. I could reclaim my name again.

Not sure about his priorities to be honest.

Peter Reid appears to me to be a far better proposition than Steve Clarke.

He's had 6 major managerial posts.

Three where he received backing

Man City (Wins 42.75%)
Sunderland (45.04%)
Thailand national team (52.94%)

And three where he didn't

Leeds United (27.27%)
Coventry City (32.26%)
Plymouth Argyle - in financial meltdown (26.23%)

Overall (41.72%)

Steve Clarke has had one major appointment

West Brom (32.20%)

Now which looks better for a club with an ambitious owner?

I think any new manager at this stage will take time to get to know the players, so we might as well stick with Brazil, at least he knows them.

Peter Reid is desperate for a job, no English club has touched him for years.

Manchester City- sacked following his long ball approach
Sunderland- His best record, did very well before being sacked after a very poor run saw them heading to relegation, even with Kevin Phillips
Leeds- sacked. To be fair he didn't have a lot of backing but the signings he did make didn't gel
Coventry- took a team with promotion ambitions to 20th place. Cov fans don't rate him at all
Thailand national team- let's not go there
Plymouth Argyle- disappointing results saw him leave by mutual consent
Kolkata Camelians- no idea what happened here, Indian premier league team he managed

Any forest fan who would prefer Reid to Clarke needs their head examining in my humble opinion. The guy is hit and miss with signings to say the least

I'm glad that fawas is living up to his word and not rushing this appointment. The news papers make it sound alot worse than it is, saying fawas is clueless while getting turned down by everyone that he's asked.

The only person of note he's asked is warnock, who they both mutually agreed wouldn't work as fawas wanted him to live local and warnock wanted more backing for such as sort spell. Every chairman has an 'opinion' on teams and such.

Who knows, Brazil might take us up after all

David Moyes may be available in a few weeks time. Wasn't he Billy's boss at Preston.

I'd be as impressed with Reid as I would have been with hoddle.

I'm not too fussed by Clarke or Zola, neither have too much history for me to get excited by. Not that I'm saying they'd be bad appointments but probably a bit unknown.

Might as well stick with Brazil for 7 remaining games, what's the worst that can happen? We don't get in the playoffs? Most had already decided that last week anyway! Brazil already knows the players and should be able to organise enough to do an acceptable job for 7 games, looks to be working ok for Sherwood.
