Police accounts of the Hillsborough disaster were amended to remove negative comments about senior officers, a coroner has said.

Lord Justice Goldring said the jury at the inquests into the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans will have to consider whether the changes were ordered to deflect criticism or blame fans.

what other reason would there be to change the accounts of officers criticising senior police officers??

I am really glad that this is happening, but it is seriously opening old wounds, I just hope justice is doen once and for all.

It really is difficult to read the families stories... It is only now (as a father myself) that I can in some way relate to the parents of the victims. It makes it far far worse and i can now understand why my dad insisted i went to the ground/memorials all those years ago..i was only 9 when it happened and i can admit sometimes i did not want to go with him...but now i get it and im glad i did.

Im a teacher and next week im running an assembly per year group for the whole school so all students understand the facts to this point i think it is important and luckily so do my bosses....
