Giroud

Before I start, I am not blaming Giroud for the teams failings in recent weeks, this is about his performances over the whole season.

13 league goals in a team with creative forces such as Ozil, Santi, Theo etc etc.

Is there anyone on ja606 willing to defend him?

Worst forward at Arsenal this century. Chamackh was better in my opinion.

@KPPR, what people obviously not get is that it is not about to defend Giroud of all critics. But why is he worth 5 articles after every defeat? Dont see any of these t@wats come out with the same critics about Podolski as one example.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
True. Arteta was at fault for at least two of Everton's goals, and has committed a series of catastrophic howlers this season - but I don't see the reams of articles calling him 'the worst midfielder since Inamoto'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But who would you rather have in your team, Giroud or Lukaku?

Blame the system? Play to Giroud's strengths? What are those which no-one else is aware of? Giroud lacks the main qualities that define a good striker. He has no pace and power, lacks creativity, cannot dribble or create his own chances, cannot bully the defence and is easily boxed by defenders.
=======
Even though he's scored 17 goals this season and eight assists? Hardly the statistics of a player who has no qualities whatsoever...

Walcott is actually a better striker than Giroud.
=======
Until he gets his pay rise, then he becomes an indifferent winger again.

And today in a single stroke of genius Lukaku showed what a good striker is. Giroud has never scored and will never score a goal as good as Lukaku's today.
=======
He and Giroud have the same number of goals this season. And let's not forget that Lukaku has a supply line of the likes of Mirallas, Delofeu, Barkley, Baines and Coleman - Giroud has an out-of-sorts Cazorla and an inconsistent Podolski to assist; he was certainly helped when the likes of Walcott, Ramsey and Ozil were in the side and our football was more direct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Simple question: Who would you rather have in your team, Giroud or Lukaku?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not the real question - the question is, if you have a big, physical striker, who would you prefer around him - Mirallas and Delofeu, or the more static Podolski and the paceless Cazorla? Because if you stick Lukaku in our forward line with this complete lack of imagination, you'll have the exact same problem.

That is the question I am putting to you so you can't substitute it with yours, unless you realise the obvious answer is very inconvenient for you.

Giroud would still look average. If he had Ox or Gnabry on either wing tbf.

What the fυck are you talking about? I answered your question - unless my answer was too complicated for your tiny brain.

Let me put it in caveman terms for you:

Either Giroud or Lukaku, both suffer at Arsenal. Nobody around quick, nobody who know how go VROOM! Both need do everything on own, both same problems.

Put ME on the spot? I answered your question. Your inability to understand that answer isn't my problem. Or maybe it is, because my taxes are your only source of income.

And no Lukaku hadnt a good game against Arsenal. He had one shot on target and scored. That he did well.

What nonsense. Lukaku runs at defenders and scores goals (like he did against us). He powers through people and he actually wins some headers.

And yes Gunnerthru.. that comment is laughable.
