I've always been a staunch Wengerite. How could anybody with the name Arsene not be destined to lead Arsenal forever? And somebody who has given the team such a strong presence. He has always been the coolest manager - elegant, sophisticated, educated, witty - and with an outstanding philosophy that has transformed British football.
I am all for his ideas that Arsenal should play entertaining, attacking football, and his Canute-like resistance to the grotesque monetarisation of the beautiful game.
Personally, I was very disappointed with our transfer windows but did not attribute this to laziness, stubbornness, meanness, sluggishness etc. This last window, there simply wasn't anybody available (although we should have replaced Bendtner and Park with any old stopgaps)
Now after this last humiliation, There's one thing I find hard to accept: it seems that Wenger can no longer inspire or motivate his team when the going gets tough. It's like they've all just given up, even Rosicky.
For this reason, I'm beginning to agree that Wenger's time is up. Unless he can pull off that last-ditch transformation, it's over.
Don't who can replace him, and the debacle of Moyes is chilling. Whoever, for me a new manager must have a clear, strong personality like the great managers - Fergie, Maureen, Klopp, etc.
The fat lady is coming on now

Do you not think he's stagnated though? Looks to me like you need to freshen things up. The same things happen every season. You play well in patches, fans get their hopes up, then you get several injuries and fall apart. It can't just be a coincidence....

yeah but I am used to it now, its fine really, I cannot work it out anymore, might aswel let him stay in charge, I'd miss him too much. He has been here since before Princess Diana died.

Like I said in the article, I'm losing faith in Wenger's ability to rally his team. I cannot imagine this slump under Maureen or Fergie.

You don't need people 'available'. You MAKE them 'available'. The majority of football deals are done like this, it's only on rare occasions that you get a player like Ozil where Madrid need to sell someone.
Look at others around us. Chelsea, say, got Matic, who'd improve us no end in the middle of the park.
And as you say, the sort of striker to have better cover than Bendtner or Park. Someone like Shane fúcking long, ffs, as below our standards as he is, could come in and do a job for a comparative pittance.

I said that the result of todays game could decide the future of Wenger.
Personally I see him leaving this summer to manage abroad or step up at Arsenal
