So as we all know we have a world class 5 aside team injured and January's been and gone. Could the club got a Ramsey or a Walcott? And if so would they have hit the ground running. As for a striker the bench mark is Chelsea they couldn't get one either And they throw money away. We need to find out about our injuries but rvp is still getting them Walcott was a knee and jacks was an impact broken foot. Only Ramseys diagnosis was iffy. I'm gutted the way it's ending but the time to judge is at the end of the season.

We could never have got in a world class striker in Jan. However could've got a pretty good winger/forward I'm sure. Even a better midfielder.

Exactly what 50 says. Average would have been ok.

We have plenty of average already. Rather use bendtner and some youth.

Yet Wenger has done neither.
Plus you state in the OP that "for a striker the bench mark is Chelsea". Well the same could also be said about a CM/DM which Mourinho addressed by (re)signing Matic.
Leafing up to and during January it was bleedin' obvious that there wouldn't be any of what Arsene categorises as 'top, top' strikers available. That doesn't mean that another area of weakness in the squad couldn't be strengthened.
Arteta has looked like he's running through treacle since the turn of the year. Sagna's contract situation was - and still is - ongoing and it's clear Jenkinson isn't and probably won't be ready to step up as he's full-time replacement any time soon. We lack pace all over the pitch.
I could go on...

Just a thought lex but Chelsea have arguably gone backwards since those players came in! That said Jan we were under prepared to say the least.
