That was supposed to be the whole point of his signing, a 1 match deal Vs Taker at Mania 31. That was what the fans have wanted for years and finally Sting signs and even teases us by admitting his favourite number is 31. Both Taker and Sting retire after the match and go into The Hall of Fame.
It's clear Taker can't go anymore and he looks terrible but to lose to Lesner. I'm happy the ego stroke is over but they blew it big time. Lesner may be legit but he's got no love or interest in WWE and is known as a pay cheque man. Giving him of all people that victory was wrong.
A lot of fans are saying finally WWE managent have balls which is true but they still lack intelligence.
Sting may have resisted Vince's millions for years and that may or not have been a mistake but he's always been dignified about his career choices. He wanted his final match to be against Taker and the build up alone would've and should've been epic.
Whether that was Takers last match or not any clash with Sting now is completely ruined. Who else is Sting going to fight??? What's the point?
Oh they'll probably just job him out to Superman like everyone else!
What a facking shambles.
What's the point of Sting signing now?

Would have been a cool moment if he helped save Bryan on RAW with the baseball bat, he could have countered Kane as the anti-authority personnel alongside Bryan and the Shield.

I thought they did it perfectly, the guy in the front row in the sting makeup looking extremely miserable while everyone else around him went yes made the show

That guy was hilarious, did a perfect Sting impression from 1997

All in all I think it was a tragic end to a tragic end.
The most irksome part of it all is that Lesnar was beaten by Triple H and Cena at previous PPV's since his return so where is the logic?
I can understand it being Mark Calloway's decision but why Lesnar?

Taker loves UFC and thinks it would be believable for him to beat him. Wanted him to end it at WM27

People won't be engaged in the Taker vs. Sting match because of the in-ring action or result of the match. It'll be all about the imagery and the theatrics.
Taker's streak being broken takes absolutely nothing away from the confrontation. Whether it's at Wrestle Mania, Survivor Series (where I'd like it personally), Summer Slam or on Raw - Sting hasn't got a chance of going over.
