Swansea

What a great result last night, but I just hope we don’t let up on the premiership challenge because we are now focusing on the semi-final of the eurpoean cup (old money).

If other results go our way we can still nick the premiership off Liverpool and Man City but we obviously need maximum points in the run in.

So Swansea, I think a few guys need resting after last night.

Luis was outstanding, his passing may at times have been a bit wayward but the effort he showed, full of great commitment to pressing high in midfield, so probably should be rested.

The other 2 I would rest is Lampard and Eto’o, not because they didnt play well but due to using them more sparingly, especially Eto’o just back from injury.

As Ivanovic is suspended for the first CL semi, I would like to look at Azpi on his natural right with Cole returning to left back as this is likely to be the semi-final line up.

Obviously Hazard will now be unavailable for a couple of games.

So I think Oscar should drop back to play alongside the returning Matic.

Salah and Schurlle to either wing with Willian at 10.

Ba has by last nights substitue appearance deserved a rare starting slot as his hold up play could be useful for a tricky away fixture at Swansea.

Team for Sunday:

.......................Cech

Azpil’ta......Cahill.......Terry(C).....Cole

.............Matic..............Oscar

Salah..............Willian............Schurlle

.......................Ba

Thoughts guys?

I think Oscar is a more controlled and accurate than Ramires and much more positive than Mikel

This ^^^ with Ivanovic instead of Azpi I'm sure he could do with a rest too

Cech
Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Azpi
Rami - Matic
Salah - Oscar - Schurrle
Eto'o

Ba impact sub Swansea and starts against Sunderland at home.
Cole for Sunderland.
Eto'o wouldn't have played the full match last night If he wasn't fit.

Willian rather instead of Oscar.

I would expect a maximum of 5 changes to our starting X1 from the team that started last night, obviously with Hazard being out for 2 weeks is 1 of them with Schurrle more than likely being the player to replace him. I expect Salah to replace either Willian or Oscar. I do expect Matic to start in midfield alongside Lampard with David Luiz dropping back into defence in place of Terry who i think will be rested for this game, i wouldn't be surprised if both Cole and Ba started in place of Ivanovich and Eto'o either.

We need to build up some consistency and momentum like, I hate to say, Liverpool. We seem to blow hot and cold, two great displays, followed by two crap ones, and vice-versa.

Yes, of course we did. We need to recapture some of that form!

That's my prediction. Eto'o tends not to be picked for the away games, so he could come off the bench. So could Salah.
Ramires and Matic have both had a rest, so will almost certainly play - although I rarely manage to second-guess Mourinho so who knows.

Come on the Chels! It's still a big game - I hope the team still has the passion for the Premier League after the big CL game.

It's times like this where I don't envy Liverpool but boy, it knackered me as a fan, let alone a player in the week and we go again at the weekend, Liverpool are fresh and will be more consistent due to this IMO
