I am just wondering after reading his comments today??? Sell Modric to improve.........
All Summer he's said the opposite, 'how can you replace Modric'.
Selling Modric will strengthen a main rival.
Selling Modric is wrong and proves that Spurs are just a feeder club for Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City..............
Is Redknapp's brain full of sh-!t???

Hi mate hope you're well....
I'm just really annoyed by people reading the Fail and believing it's all true , they took quotes from different interviews mixed them up and made it look like he was trying to sell the player
I think he's honestly tried to explain the situation as he sees it , he's always said that it's out of his hands and is solely down to Levy whether he stays or goes ....The media always make it look like he saying things which he's not and never print the questions only the replies ......If you had heard the interviews then you would know the truth of the situation ......I will say he does leave himself open to it but that does not excuse the media for the way they report it

WHY IS THERE TWO OPTIONS???? THERE SURELY MUST ONLY BE ONE - MODRIC IS NOT FOR SALE. That is one option not two, it does not matter what the question is, as the answer should always be the same - "Modric is not for sale"

Hey Squid
I have to say that the standard of journalism in this particular window has really plummeted to the depths. To the extent that journos are siting all kinds of reasons for Modders unavailability for tonight including the notion that he'll be cup tied for the CL, even though it won't make any difference, as my understanding is that you can only be cup tied if it's the other way round
Hope you're keeping well too mate

Sorry squid but all he has to say is "the chairman is not selling him" or even add "so I can't answer any hypothetical questions on what might happen if he changes his mind" or even "I've been over this before and there is no change"
Its as simple as that. Why doesn't he just shut up about it? He's not doing any good by it. He will be fulfilling his interview obligations and we don't have to listen to or read any more on it from him. SHUT IT HARRY!!!!!!!

Just sell him. What's the point keeping a player who doesn't want to be there? You will get £30M+ for him which IMO I don't think he is worth and you can spend it on Ade, Diarra, Parker, etc. No point keeping a player who isn't committed just to prove a point, you will only look stupid at the end of it.

Hate to say it but I kind of agree. My main issue is that selling him to Chelsea would undoubtedly strengthen a team who we don't want to be strengthened, and it would be sad to see him in their shirt. And also us looking stupid after all the statements saying he's not going. But that apart, I do agree with the sentiment that we could actually improve the team by selling him. Why?
Well, much as he was integral in much of what was good about our play last season in terms of the attractiveness of it, and much as our strikers were off form, could it be that for all his magic, he wasn't actually that effective? He certainly didn't score as often as someone in his position should have, and I'm not sure he had that many assists either. Another problem, which wasn't his fault, was that with VDV wandering all over the place they often got in each other's way. It could be magical but could also be really frustrating.
Another issue was lack of protection for the defence. There's no doubt Modric worked his socks off, but he's hardly a midfield enforcer. With such an attacking team holes were left and it often came down to one player protecting the back four, leaving them exposed and causing more errors. My feeling is that with two strong, combative CMs the balance of the team could be better. Imagine having Sando and, say, Diarra in CM, allowing Lennon, Bale and VDV (and, to an extent, BAE and Walker) to bomb on. Maybe not quite as attractive but I'd guess more effective - I'd certainly expect us to concede less but also imagine we'd be just as, if not more, exciting to watch. Modric is one of those players who can't be dropped because of what he can do, but that's not always the best way of balancing a team.
So, while I love Modric and would prefer him to stay (or, as much as that, would prefer him not to go to another PL team), I can see that what Harry is saying could be true. If Modric going allows us to sign Diarra, a striker and maybe one or two others I wouldn't see that as a backwards step, and could certainly improve us.

I agree thats spot on as well
Not to mention we would never bring in an equal replacement for Modric and we should be taking a stance on a player who just signed a 6 year deal
