Am i missing something with regards to the above player ,who we have supposedly loaned out to Northampton to get games and keep match fit . Or have we been stupid enough to loan him to Northampton for the rest of the season ? . Surely we need to have a player who i regard as a top defender back amongst our squad for the crucial run in of matches . Aparently Northampton fans are gutted he cannot play for them tomorrow ,and i am not suprised . Or as rumour has it, has he had some disagreement with our manager and gone the same way as Rene Howe ? .Some have said he is slow and cost us goals when he played regularly , but i saw him as a leader and a fearless header of the ball ,and someone who would put his head in where it hurts . Anyone got any thoughts as i find it puzzling .

Based upon what was said in the media I think he'd had enough of bench warming.
He made the right noises at the start - 'willing to fight for my place', 'take my chance when it arrives' blah blah.
Then he started saying 'I'm not used to this having been a starter at clubs at a higher level'.
By the time he had got to Northampton it was 'Good to be playing again at last. This is a great club. I would like to sign permanently'.
So, it is just the cycle of a player who wants to be out on the pitch playing. Fair enough.
I wouldn't be critical of GR. He has to make tough decisions and give blunt truths. Zander probably asked him where he stood and GR would have said Sharpsy and The Sheriff are my preferred options.
