African teams/players

** 13/04/14 **

How much do people know about African teams/players that either play in Africa at a decent level or outside of Africa, in Europe at a decent level? Does anyone know any sort of knowledge on this?

I would like to cast a vote. Which African team will win the World Cup?

A. Ivory Coast
B. Nigeria
C. Ghana

What I think is, because a lot of players are French/African, the better quality players that were born in an African country but can play for France, choose to play for France. The standard would improve if the top players would want to be a stand out player for a small African country, rather than a fringe French player.

But that's just my opinion.

I've heard Algeria aren't the worst team to ever come through. Don't they have some half decent players. Morocco are a little too tacky (I think that would be the word for me to describe it) for me.

Egypt played great football when they dominated African football but never qualified for the WC, and even had they, they would not have fared anybetter than any other African team.

But I do understand that Egypt could do it, but we're talking in decades of time. One with hope it coincides with political and social stability on the continent too.

DJ another African team making quarters could be possible. Ghana came pretty close last time around but Suarez....

As long as Bosnia don't get stage fright I can see Nigeria going out in the groups. Ghana have a very difficult group, Algeria maybe have a chance of second round. Cameroon have a chance of getting 2nd behind Brazil, but no chance in 2nd round.
I cannot see it being a good year for African nations this time out, but will be pleased if I am wrong.

Ghana came close because, like I've said, a few years back, there players were top quality at there clubs, but now... KPB, stale at mid table Milan, Asamoah Gyan, where did he ever go?? etc.

But to reinforce my question from earlier:

Does anyone know where competitive European football/African football etc debate or analysis can take place? Examples like, predictors or entertainment related football.

Thought we were discussing it here

Yes, but, this surely won't be something that is long lasting. I mean, is there any other places/boards as they are called where it is a little more competitive or where more debate can take place?
