Stick or Twist

That is the question.

If we stick, we can write off any chance of winning the premier league, or champions league, for the next 2-3 years, however long the contract that Wenger signs comes to.

We can also write off away trips to Utd, City, Liverpool, Everton, Stoke and Chelsea.. Aswell as winning majority of home games against the above (Stoke excluded)

That would account for 25 pts, 5 away defeats and 5 home draws.. So no chance of title.

If we twist, we run the risk of slipping further behind, permanently outside the top four, as there are not many decent managers out there who are available, ( if Martinez enters your head, go find a gun and shoot yourself, the world already has enough idiots - he will not leave them for us) ..

As far as I am concerned, Arsene should go this summer. FA cup or no FA cup. He needs to go. The relationship between fans and manager will never recover after the rude, yet ridiculously consistent awakening that befell the fans on that 1,000 th game day

Whatever happens Arsene needs to go. We are hopeless away to the top teams and I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of games when we have really played good football this season.

Tactically he has been found out , no plan B or C, and can't motivate players or change things when things are going wrong.

Unfortunately we have a board made up of people who know nothing about football so if Arsene does go we will get Mr bargain basement ....probably Remi Garde. Yes I know that Lyon beat PSG yesterday but they are 5th in a weak league.

nobody else is daft enough to employ a moyes-class manager to move to a big club.

We won't make the same mistake as utd.

We have zero genuine football men at the top of the club so it's actually fairly likely we'd pick a dross manager...

I can only hope that Arsenal win the Cup and finish 4th (or above - dont laugh)

once that is done we should say thank you and goodbye to AW.

I dont flatter myself I have all the answers re: who will take over or who should, but in answer to the OP, May is the time to twist

the very idea that we cannot do any better with another manager is rubbish... I would like to see Klopp or Pep

De Boer or Martinez maybe... but all of those are doubtful at the moment and my worry would be we go with Steve Bould or Remi Garde.

Twist. New manager fresh ideas. However with Wenger at club for so long transition could seem difficult but we have the foundation and squad if the right man is bought in!

There's a board meeting today so might get a few snippets of info leaked to the media, however I suspect that AW will sign a new contract.

His time is up. Hopefully we send him off with an FA cup so his legacy holds strong.

Twist.

Atm I would prefer Wenger to go but if he makes very strong moves early in the transfer window and certainly before the World Cup to sign a recognised world class striker and a DM I might be prepared to give him another chance. Realistically he needs to spend £100m+

Moyes has been a minor disaster this season not because he's a crap manager, but because the heart of the mancs has been removed.

A new manager often means a complete change in backroom staff, something the players will likely take some time to adapt to.

These things can be successful, and quickly, but we no longer live in the same football world we had when Wenger arrived - when pies and a pint (or 15) was considered adequate preparation for games.

There is more danger in replacing a long term manager than most talking heads on here realise.

I doubt many would care though, because it would allow the never-ending ego battles and c@ck-measuring contests to continue on sites like this and others.

Hear where you are coming from Oscan, the only problem is, Wenger is a specialist in failure when it comes to preparing his teams mentally, tactically and psychologically, in football terms at least.

When pies and pints were considered adequate preparation for games, Wengers teams held the upper hand. So I guess times have changed.. Like you said.
