Interesting stuff; After our very interesting discussion on this very board about Podolski yesterday, the German slot badger only goes and tips up with two finishes so clinical, you'd trust him with a scalpel in one hand and your 4skin in the other!
Anyway, suffice to say, opinions were split pretty much down the middle with Prince Poldi. People (most people) enjoy his jovial and breezy nature, some are a bit bored with his Instagram fetish, some think he's played 'out of position', some think he's 'the best finisher at the club' and some think 'just sell him & we can all get on with our lives'.
Without setting the Emirates alight, which would be against Health & Safety for one thing, Podolski actually scored two VERY good goals yesterday. Goals win games (well duh) and as I've already stated, he was ruddy, bloody clinical.
I'm not his agent and I'm not here to try & change any of your minds on his importance to the club (good or bad). But I am here to ring a little bell as a reminder that he's obviously not bad in-front of goal, in my moist opinion he's far & away the most 'natural finisher' at the club.
Hopefully last night was a cameo of what's to come in what promises to be a knock-down-drag-out affair in the battle to secure a Champions League spot.

Podolski, more food for thought...

As good as his finishing is, hes basically a bystander for much of the game. We need to invest in someone who can both finish, and offer something on and off the ball. I miss Pires and Ljungberg on the wings

The first comment on this thread is spot on...
He is a decent player, but not good enough to start, he is probably too good and certainly on to high a wage to be a squad player and he does not suit our style...
as the first thread also said, in no way is it a priority to get rid of him at all.... but I think he should be sold or certainly used as a possible makeweight in a Draxler deal...
of course, this is Arsenal and we wont replace him, so with that in mind we may as well keep him

Podolski is actually more versatile and more useful player than one dimensional Giroud and I am saying this as a Chelsea fan!

Get sanogo out on loan and bring in facking gun striker for crying out loud.
No need to sell anyone

Sanogo can play in cup games next season and try and keep fit, no point sending him to the championship (see Miquel, Afobe, Lansbury etc..) waste of time.

If we get in a striker of top quality both him Giroud and sanogo would be on the bench so might as well loan him out

We have to keep Sanogo if we only buy one striker. Our problem has been lack of options and you don't want an increase in numbers?

A top striker coming into the fold will not only bolster the squad in terms of goals (hopefully) & numbers, but it will also create options.
Assembling different frontlines and offensive set-up's depending on the opponent.

Ideally we should be looking for two top XIs.
Chez
?? Kos Per Gibbs
Ramsey ??
Walcott Ozil Santi
??
Thats 3 first teamers, and I think they are all essential if we are to progress.
??
Jenks ?? Vermaelen Monreal?
Arteta Wilshere
Ox Rosicky Podolski
Giroud
+ Gnabry, Sanogo, Flamini and //Diaby//
If Gnabry is ready, i'd like to see him pushing Cazorla for a place on the wings. Hopefully the manager will change this depending on opposition, but we need more pace! If not loan Gnabry out, he must play.
Even though we are covered on the wings I can't help but feel a WC winger would make us far more dangerous than any other signing. Can't really think of a striker that good that may be available.

Personally don't see why people want him sold. Not saying he should be starting week in week out but if we want to challenge for the title next season he's the type of player we need in the squad.
Throughout the season, even without being a nailed on starter, we can offer him another game time to keep him happy. We all know that when he gets on the pitch he'll get important goals.
