Over the (recent) years there have been some great periods of world class teams competing in the Champions League (although none has been able to retain their title yet).
Through the Real Madrid "Galacticos" era of the late 1990s and early 2000s, into the brief but explosive rise of Barcelona, and into, possibly, a new era of dominance from Bayern Munich, echoing their predecessors of the mid 1970s.
However, outside of these periods, there have equally been some lulls. Which team do you think is the worst to have lifted the trophy in the CL era (post 1993)?
If you can cast your mind back, perhaps we could discuss who was the worst team to win it under the old format. Red Star Belgrade spring instantly to mind, but perhaps there are some other contenders?
Worst CL winners ever?

Sorry but none of those three were ever world class.
good players but never great. Carragher couldnt even get a game for England. Awkward.

Liverpool in 2005 win hands down

OP's clearly on the WUM, but I'll still say that 1991 Red Star Belgrade team were one of the most lethal counterattacking sides I've ever seen. Dull final but they were absolute quality before that.

This is one of those occasions where some of you allow petty club rivalry to cloud your judgement.
Liverpool played some fantastic football on their way to CL 2005 victory. They out played some very good teams on the way.
Chelsea on the other hand were aweful.
