Today's Game

Nice to get a win.
Osborn had a stormer. Was involved in loads of nice little touches around their box in the first half and in the second half was the only one of our midfield who pressed the ball.
Regarding Derbyshire I can't believe people are suggesting he should get a new contract. He's in here 3 seasons and hasn't hit double figures once, exactly the sort of player we don't want clogging up the wage bill. This season has demonstrated that its a squad game so for me should be released. Good technical player, but lacks the build and speed to be a threat, would be easy pickings for a half decent centre half.
Vaughn is class. Like I've said previously he has the ability to dictate how we play, loads of composure, reads the game well and makes loads of little interceptions. People suggesting he's a crock need to look at his career stats, today was his 400th game. A must in terms of being signed. Vocal and a leader as well.
Jamel, Darlow found some form today (no coincide as they had better protection from Vaughn).
Nice to get a win but we made it hard for ourselves and seemed scared to attack for fear of leaving any space in behind.
One worry for me though was the lack of the ball being pressed. We had good shape behind the ball (for the first time in ages) but by not getting after the ball we allowed them time. Maybe we ain't fit enough to put teams under pressure.

Derbyshire has been awful the majority of his time with us .. beyond awful for most of that. People saying he deserves a new contract off the back of a couple of half decent shifts need their heads checking. Sooner he's out the door the better

On the derbyshire front.......
It's a strange one for me. Completely agree with the points being made above. The strikers which don't actually score goals really need to be moved on. That means getting rid of all of them then!!!
But to be fair they all bring different things to the table.

Cox is intelligent..... Works hard etc.
Henderson ..... Big lad up front ...

But let's face it. We haven't had a decent return from a striker in years. Why is that? Are they just not good enough? Or is it deeper than that? I'm beginning to think we aren't playing to the best of their abilities.

It's amazing how forwards sometimes leave us and all of a sudden start banging the goals in again.

I can't tell you Derbyshire's stats this season, but I bet his minutes on the pitch to goals ratio is more than reasonable!!! He looked very sharp in pre season, then didn't seem to get a look in with the first team.

Basically I'm still open minded about him.
If he goes .... Then I won't lose any sleep. At least he seems to be fighting for a new contract!! Can't argue with that! Is it all too little to late though???

However if he does play against us next season .... I'd put the house on him scoring against us!!

You need a credit rating for pay-pal bro

Not everyone deals in trees or fridges.

Yes, how goals to game ratio will be good because he has only earned a starting place about a dozen times. He is the definition of average Championship striker and if Forest have any ambition, he is the type of player they need rid of.
I'm still annoyed that Forest didn't go for the likes of Nakhi Wells in January, who would've been a storming signing IMO. Instead wasters like Derbyshire hang about at the CG like a bad smell living off one (admittedly) great goal v Leeds.

I would be wary regarding getting rid of too many players, before we see who we can attract to the club as replacements. Not paying Derby their gate money and not paying Chelsea for Cheloba's loan are not act's likely to raise the club's credit rating.

I would offer both Tudgay and Derbyshire a one year contract on squad wages. Miller is going and is still probably one of the biggest earners, so that free's up some cash for a decent striker, unfortunately it looks as if Dextors career is over. Let's see who SP can attract to the club.
