Does anyone know the actual % sell on clause that was agreed with Villa when we bought Cahill?
I think it's playing a big factor in this protracted sale. We seem to be looking to cut a deal for cash + players so as not to have to part with a huge chunk of the fee received.
I seem to remember something as big as 15% being mentioned by Martin O'Neil at the time.

I thought it was 10%? Might very well be wrong there.

It is 10% Holdsworth, but equally I'd hope we put some similar clauses in his eventual sale.

I know it was in his contract that minimum fee release clause increased from £15m to £17.5m upon first playing for England. In theory that extra £2.5m would more than cover the sell-on clause we will owe Villa. In practice, if he goes between now and the 1st September, the deal will be worth less than £17.5m I imagine.

I thought it was 15% of any profit we made on him.

I might come on this board more often seem's to be some intelligent conversation. My Liverpool board seems to just be full of daftness and name calling

It would be nice if these clauses worked both ways. If your buy turns out to be a complete donkey, the club you bought him off then has to give you some money back. Toulouse would owe us a fortune.

U6873, the biggest clubs' boards seem to attract a bigger proportion of idiots and nay sayers unfortunately. You're welcome any time.
