Jenson Button

This man together with Whitmarsh have relegated McLaren into a midfield team. Button has always boasted about how the car was built around him and how intelligent he was at car setups hahahah..... He has been found desperately wanting in this regard. Ron Dennis do what needs to be done, get rid of dead wood!

you know who

the driver can only give feedback on the car after it has been designed , built and is covering mileage in the pre season tests ,
if it happens to be a turkey there is not alot the driver can do about it --

In season development also counts, besides that engineers are not just left to their devices to design the car. Driver input is essential. Take Hamilton last year he mention how uncomfortable he was with the brakes and had to work with the engineers just to get the right feel.

you know who

you are missing the point bud --- if the car is a dud as the mclaren was last year and none of the updates or developments do squat there is very little the driver can do about it during the course of the year -

in hamiltons case the car was very quick last year all be it very hard on the pirelli"s and his brake issues were purely a personal issue with the calipers it had nothing to do with the design of the car --

I would think if his break issues were just down to calipers and had nothing to do with the overall design of the car, they would have been changed after the first race. 2009 comes to mind where McLaren was nowhere first part of the season, but Hamilton with the right feedback lead the team forward and actually scored more points than golden boy Button in the second half of the season.

All you need is a good base and this season Button has been harping on about how good a baseline they have but absolute zilch to show for it!

Button has already destroyed one team, Honda, and he is in the process of ruining another one McLaren! Flavio saw it long coming and got rid of him just before he could inflict his fatal touch. Long may Button's partnership with McLaren continue so that McLaren pose no threat to Mercedes' dominance!

you know who

rosberg never had a problem with his brakes last year so the design of the car was good ,

as for 2009 the mp4/24 never sorted its diffuser issue out until hungary when it then became a very potent machine ,
---------- think we can safely say every other driver on the grid is more than capable of giving intelligent feedback to the engineers , unless i am missing something i dont think it is somehow unique to just hamilton and hamilton alone --

Martial,

It is amazing watching educated F1 fans laying into idiots like this.

I wonder why you guys even bother. I just see articles like this and move on.

OP Button won races for Honda, Brawn and McLaren. He is no slouch and is an accomplished driver and a world champion. McLaren should have hung on to Hamilton and Paddy Lowe. Lowe is more of a miss than Hamilton. Even if Lewis was at McLaren, I doubt he can win races with the car they have now.

Before you say he outperformed button in 2012, that car was fundamentally quick, this one is crap.

I just do not understand this need to constantly belittle drivers. Yes we have our faves and yes we think they are better than the others but there is no need for the ridicule especially when the facts say otherwise

You wonder how some peoples opinions are formulated. What do they sit down and think????

man devil

dont let it wind you up sport , you know the nature of sports forums it goes with the territory -
--- on a logical note the criticism leveled at football players on the forums are far worse than anything we see on the various F1 forums --

we are bound to have the odd extremist views on here of whatever F1 driver we should just be thankful that we are spared the mind numbing rot that infest alot of the footie forums
