Moyes having to rely on Rooney

Quick Question. Why did david Moyes rate wayne Rooney so highly? £300,000 a week and star status in his team.
Should have got rid at the start of the season and concentrated on RvP, Thats what fergie would have done.

If he had done that and ditched Rooney then we wouldnt have had a striker for 2/3 of the season...

this is my opinion
when saf left he made the option of selling rooney easy for moyes by turning the fans against rooney.
Moyes declined that option like a kid in a toy store he wanted it all. Rooney, rvp, fabregas, ronaldo, bale etc etc.

had we been more decisive and got in the required players keeping rooney should have not been a priority. Instead target were flying off the shelves and by mid august keeping rooney became utds priority.

Not necessarily true, had Rooney left then the course of history would have changed and RVP would not have been in the situations that caused his injuries.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have got any other injuries, the fact is you nor I or anyone would know or can say. Who knows, he may have got a bit of luck along the way, went injury free all season and scored 25+ league goals, no one knows.

And if Chelsea had bought him they might be languishing in seventh place by now.

i don't read the sun, if thats where you got your info from then i suggest you use better judgement next time

most of city's players are on more than 300k, im pretty sure tevez was rumoured to be on 500k a week

geez, is it your money? no. whats his salary got to do with it. he probably earns the club millions a year in marketing and shirt sales so any salary he has is justified.

if you wanna look at it as the club bending over backwards for him when we supposedly have a 200m warchest, well then you should defo not read the sun

I dont read the Sun, you dont have to read the Sun to have read how much he is earning.
All the best to him if he can earn that money but my opinion of him is that he is over rated and was relied on by Moyes when SAF knew that it was time to get rid.
If he was not English we would all be laughing at him the same we are at Torres.

This for anyone who hasn't already seen it, will give you a better idea of Rooney's new contract.

I still think it's a ludicrous amount to be paying him though. Not worth it by any stretch.

We should've let him go to Chelsea. It would've prevented Liverpool from winning the league.
