Looks like Jose is already making excuses for his Chelsea team if they lose on Sunday.
One small issue he has missed is his little horse 2nd string is more costly than our first eleven:

My heart is pumping custard for the special one!
Chelsea 2nd String Myth

I'm surprised that is the attitude from a Chelsea fan. You have far more chance of winning the Premier League than the European Cup so why view it as secondary?

There'sOnlyOneReds(Spurs 0-5 LFC Know your place (U1721)posted 54 minutes agoThe fans on the Chelsea board are praying they put out a weakened team so they can use that excuse if Liverpool win the league, trying their best to devalue the competition. Well I'm sorry but with your money and squad cost you should be competing on all fronts.

This.
The money that's been spent on that team there can be no excuses

Also worth noting Chelseas 'young' side have the second oldest squad in the top half of the league, behind City.

As far as the title goes everyone around us seems to have their best season ever bar united and we ve been poor, this is what some posters like GB fail to understand,
not read through the whole thread yet, so don't know if anyone's picked up on it yet, but I take issue with the comment shown above.
so everyone else is having a great season, but Chelsea are poor this season? really? currently on 75 points, possible to finish the season on 84, and this is poor? compared to what? your previous seasons? let's see, your last 5 seasons:
2013 75 points.
2012 64 points
2011 71 points
2010 86 points
2009 83 points
care to explain to us how being on 75 points, with 3 games to go is still a poor season?
because it looks to me like your doing as well as, or better than any of your last 5+ seasons.

Don't use stats mate, thats far too sensible. They're doing poor because Mourinho has told them they're doing poor and they lap it up because he can do and say no wrong.

Liverpool have been brilliant. We've done better than I expected also. We are all happy! City shouldn't be happy though.

Surprised no one's mentioned this but some of the figures used for Chelsea players in that article are wrong.
It doesn't really surprise me that the Daily Mail doesn't let facts get in the way of pushing an agenda though.
Mikel was £16mil and not £20mil (a 20 second wiki search could tell you that)
Oscar was just over £19mil and not £28mil - I have no idea where they plucked that bogus figure from.
Add to that the fact that that's pretty much our first choice back four considering our injuries. Which is the primary area Jose will be likely to make changes so will likely to have players who cost a lot less.
All of that being said, I personally don't think we really will be fielding a "second string" against you guys considering the majority of the players listed there play for our first team frequently-ish anyway.
