Special thread for the Ronnie match
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Joe Perry (Best of 25)
I created this article by accident, but now I'm glad I did as it's been one of the best matches we've ever seen at the Crucible! Ronnie O'Sullivan, struggling a little with his own play and bruised by Perry's "A" game during the first two sessions, produces a simply breathtaking display of pressure snooker to snatch the match 13-11
Session 1
Ron 3-5 Joe
Session 2
Ron 7-9 Joe
Session 3
Ron 13-11 Joe
2014 World Snooker 2nd Round Ronnie's match

Its players like perry that ruin snooker. Getting all the luck and every roll of the ball. If Ronnie didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all. 7-4 to the classless wonder. About 30 seconds a shot too. Gamesmanship sucks.

That's the shame with snooker... too much luck involved. A bit of luck is welcome, but snooker basks in it. I am more a skill lover than a snakes and ladders lover.
Saying that, Perry has played out of his skin. If the guy had more bottle, he would have won a major or two. 93% pot success and 60+% long is pretty good.

Perry has hardly missed a ball so far, he has played very well and not let Ronnie gain much momentum.
If Perry can reproduce this form in the final session I can see him beating Ronnie. O`Sullivan needs to find his `A` game or hope Perry starts to miss a few.

I think Ronnie can just about win by on his B game, but only if Joe feels the heat and drops his standard, If Joe keeps playing this well then Ronnie will need his A game to win this final session by the three frames he needs. It is 50-50 at the moment, fingers crossed for Ronnie.

Forget B game. Try A game.

I've never seen back to back centuries made under that pressure. Brilliant stuff from Ronnie!

Absolutely awesome. THE greatest sportsman ever to draw breath. To win against the odds, back against the wall. And to play that standard under that pressure. Amazing. A god amongst men.

Yes, around 97% pot success in that session for Ronnie. Steve Davis said afterwards that he thinks that (post Dr Peters) Ronnie's ability to cope with pressure is the best he's ever seen.

I would disagree with that though. Well, not sure now post - Peters era... but certainly pre-Peters, Ronnie was more twitchy than John Higgins.
It's hard to separate Davis, Ronnie and Hendry in the bottle dept... but I'd give a nod to John under pressure situations maybe. Only slightly.
But I don't think John would ever have been able to play that well under that pressure. He'd just use safety and steady play to see him through.
