I think the bar codes will be the final resting place for Moyes as well. The thing about contracts are that while they are fully enforceable, if Moyes decided to play hard ball with Utd he could hold them to 5 years but that also means he can’t work for anyone else in that time so a compromise is inevitable. Same applies to Pardew after he dodged the sack with compensation after the head butt malarkey. As I said in another thread, Rafa is my first choice, not keen on that funny looking Gaal bloke. Fans behind the dugout at WHL wouldn’t be able to see the game with his incredibly large bonce in the way.

I would question whether you would know what was in the the Moyes contract at United. There was some suggestion in the press that the whole contract was not enforceable because the club had not qualified for the Champions League. So there was probably a clause in the 6 year contract that said it was only 6 years if the club maintained or bettered its then position. Other than that, then a termination was possible on payment of only one year's salary.
As for limiting your chances of getting another job by trying to enforce the current 6 years contract, well, all I can think of is if I were on £5m a year, would I want another job at £2m a year and give up £3m a year without doing anything.

I was simply making an observation that depending on whats in the contract, it is enforceable in its entirety but rarely are. Also, UTD were at great pains at the start of the season to point out the road ahead would be hard as the new manager got his feet under the table so I find it hard to believe it had a CL caveat in there for year one. People can double guess all they want but none of us will ever know. I was simply saying that compromise would be made is all. And I wasn't suggesting I knew what was in his contract and I couldn't give a toss what the press suggested might be.

If spurs get moyes then I won't be investing in the club again.

The thing with martinez at everton is he has the defence that Moyes put in place. His wigan side were poor defensively, so it could be a similar situation to when Wenger joined Arsenal. He does seem like a top coach but i am waiting to see if he can keep it up. For Spurs i think we should go for Potchettino. De Boer hasn't done anything.

I bet levy is already on the blower to moyes.
He is right up his street

I don't see how Moyes is a levy manager? Levy hired ramos and avb in his two marquee appointments. He obviously prefers flavour of the month foreign coaches.

And now we see van Gaal heading to Man U after months of soliciting from Levy.
I agree with the previous comment, Moyes would be a perfect fit for Sp uds..
