Good

And the news is anything but good.

Young Curtis apparently broke down in his first training session and has been sent back to Newcastle for a scan. Not good for us or for the player himself as he looks towards the World Cup. Hopefully it's nothing serious as I'd really like to see him back in the team for the last couple of league games and of course the cup final.

Calum Butcher is also out for the season I believe although given his lack of first team appearances that's not really a major issue, although it could become one if we get injuries!

For the game today I believe GMS is also struggling with injury so I can see him missing out. I'd imagine Dow will come in and for me warrants it given that he at least provided some attacking impetus last week. I wouldn't be against seeing Farid starting in place of Ciftci to give him a boot up the backside that he maybe needs. It'll be interesting to see if Jackie makes any other changes to keep players fresh - maybe Gomis into the midfield or one of the younger players given a start.

Speaking of Ciftci, the Record ran a story yesterday saying Ciftci faces a speeding trial 'days before the final'. Aye, 11 days. It's hardly going to have an impact on his preparations.

Anyway, mon the Terrors, let's hope we can get a win today and get a bit of momentum built up going into the final.

Bad news Ivan We have looked so more solid with him in there and I was hoping he would be available to pocket May int he final. I hope we give some young fringe players a chance today, would like to see Connolly involved.
