Did anyone of you watch the True Detective series on Sky Atlantic? I thought the whole series was very good and strongly recommend anyone who is into crime dramas to watch it. The series is only 8 episodes long.
I watch The Following and think that it is interesting but True Detective is on another level when it comes to the whole crime genre. Everything from the story lines to the actors was superb.
All 8 episodes were interesting and suspenseful, with each episode leaving me waiting in excitement for the next. I thought Matthew McConaughey did a great job playing his character, whilst I completely forgot how good an actor Woody Harrelson is. There is an amazing long take that is 6 minutes long near the end of episode which basically summarises how great the show is.

Agreed. I zoned out during the final 15-20 minutes, a bit disappointing.
The programme in general was tense, interesting and gave a new slant to crime dramas.
*POTENTIAL SPOILER*
The scene were woody goes undercover with the same crew he worked before and went to the black neighborhood was a great episode, especially when it all kicked off.

I just thought it copped out a bit, it wasn't in keeping with the rest of the series. Wasn't needed for me.

Melton, agreed especially given that Rusty was supposed to be a nihilist. Apart from that I thought the last episode was really good.

I liked how they deduced who the green spaghetti monster was. I would like to have known who exactly was the yellow king though.

They are making a second series but incredibly woody and macaughney are not going to be in the series . I also believe it will be directed by a different guy.
