Just shows how crucial it is we get the right manager next.

Klopp, Simeone and to a lesser extent Rodgers and Martinez have shown how a team can be transformed with a young, ambitious and talented manager.

De Boer is in this mould, but a big risk with his lack of pl experience. Imo Pochettino could be the man to transform us into an overachiever.

Bear in mind that what's happening at Atletico is rare. They're broke. Only this season have any of their players been in the spotlight. Costa for one will defo be off in the summer, maybe even the manager. They've just struck while the iron is hot. The most we can get out of world class talent is probably around 2 years before they realise how good they are and leave. The same applies to Atletico's players. We DID NOT have a squad as strong as them 4 years ago. take out Modric, Bale, King and VDV and it was pretty average.

Dont agree if crouch did not get sent off early v Madrid we would have given them a game and then who knows. Anyway regardless we should have done better than we did. That team we had 3 years ago would have been right up there for the title this season. I really believe that, that was our chance to step up and we flopped. Bale is in the top 5 players in the world now. Modric one of the best in position. King when fit was as good as anyone. Then we had vdv, defoe, we were a handful and used to blow teams away early sort of like pool this season.

Also A Madrid would sell a top player then buy a top player. We sell a top player and buy a bunch of players hoping they will he good.

De Boer has 4 league titles to his name and has gone head to head with some of the greatest managers in the world today during his CL campaign (even though he got spanked a few times)
