which is better for gaming??

My biggest drawback over console gaming is with the wife about hogging the TV

.................

I know you aren't the only one who suffers from that drawback, this is the reason why I settled for a PS4 so I could play it on my Vita while the missus watches soaps etc.

Both the same - depends on 2 things, games you like and budget.

I was a games console until I played swat 4 on the PC. Loved it to bits, then played the Hitman series and got totally hooked on PC gaming. It just has a charm to it.

Did FM for a bit, loved that but NEVER played the marquee PC games sadly.

I'm tempted to save up for a alienware, this would seriously rival my Xbox one.

My opinion, get a PC. But keep your console as shït is about to get serious this next gen.

Console for me every day of the week. I bought a PS4 the day it came out and I am safe in the knowledge that that will last me for about 5 years, maybe more. Game are developed to run perfectly on it, there are some fantastic exclusives and I don't have to worry about upgrades that cost hundreds of pounds.

DO NOT BUY AN ALIENWARE! Over priced. A few years ago they were the only option now a days you have tons of options that exceed alienware in both price and specs. Also if you are talking desktop build your own.

For some people Simon, the warranty, build quality, and generally not having to worry about their PC means that the Alienware is worth it.

I have an alienware pc and one I built as I spend a lot of time away from my house. Mine is fantastic, and even if it did cost a bit more, I have absolutely no regrets with getting it, it optomises games to play on my PC automatically, can play any game at max settings still 2 years later, it's great! Sure I might have saved a few quid, but I've more than made up for that by saying I have an Alienware to people who don't know much about PC's

Also their laptops are still great and often better than anything you can get. It's always worth shopping around, but I love mine.

Can't say I agree Dave, my alienware ended up being a 2 grand door stop after 3 mobos and only 2 years. With stuff coming from MSI etc I can't agree so much, ok laptops are still pretty restricted but if you buy an alienware desktop I feel and this is purely my opinion you need your head checked. Like I said 10 years ago their build quality was second to none and buying parts was difficult today that is no longer an excuse and so many places offer better after sale services on built to order systems and often at a much cheaper price.

That's fair enough mate, I'm sorry your one wasn't very good. If I was getting a new PC, I wouldn't get another one, I'd build it, but the one I have works great and I wouldn't have a problem recommending it too someone who doesn't know much about PC's
