Interesting conversation

Just had an interesting conversation with my dad.
One of his work collegues hangs around with Liam Ridehalgh. He was out with him last night and was talking about Alan Lee who apparently continually speaks of how much he earns and doesn't care whether he plays or not. Whilst training a helicopter came over and he joked, ah here they are to drop off my wage. Whether this is bang on or not, yer could actually see this sort or thing going on at Town. Big personalities and influential players on big wages not giving a damn. This may sound like a load of bo££ocks but this is what yer get with footballers. We bust our balls, they don't give a Fu@k.

Art, I probably have an unfair opinion of him because I didn't like him before we bought him. Don't have anything against him, just thought of him as one of these journeyman type players

Alan Lee,

All power to his elbow. He's been shat on from a great height by our super hero manager.

You really are clueless. Lord knows how it's taken me so long to realise it, but you are aren't you.

Alan Lee is an Icon wherever he's played. For example, Rotherham call him God.

To say you didn't like him before he came here is really quite laughable

38, that's the way he plays, but hes only effective playing as a front two. That's the way he's always played.

He takes the hard knocks and his partner feeds off the scraps.

Lee Clark has definitely not done his homework before he bought him and sent him out onto the pitch........... but hey, does that really surprise you?

Alan Lee is a good bloke from what I've heard and is well liked within the squad, I know he pretty much mentored Benik the whole time he was here and really was a good influence on him - anyone who was at Bristol Rovers last seen will have seen after the match how much Benik looked up to the big man! As for him not giving a hoot, he did go away and lose lots of weight during the off-season and come back fitter than he was last, so I can't see that being true whatsoever. He might well have said the things mentioned, but I've no doubts that if he did it will have been banter among the boys, why should he not give rinse the young lads who earn a fraction of what he's on yet have to run about for 90 minutes while he gets to chill on the bench with a nice Martini?

As for his playing abilities, he'd be starting this weekend if it was up to me.

Why would I or the other 100 Town fans sat around me care what a Rotherham fans thoughts of Alan Lee were.
My opinion on player isn't based on someone else's views.
I have my own thoughts and views on every subject you could possibly imagine.
For you to come here and slate my views on Lee is laughable.
Your own views are both contradictory and hypocritical.
Take Rhodes for example. (who, btw I do not claim to be the biggest fan) Completely slated by yourself virtually everyday in some form or another, yet if I'm not mistaken has a 2.39 strike rate. (with a hell of a lot of bench appearances) The God that is Alan Lee has 4.39 strike rate.
Now they are facts, not a clueless opinion. Granted, someones strike rate isn't the be all and end all as there are various aspects to anyones game. But this doesn't detract what I think about Lee and lets be honest, I think I will have seen him play a good few times more than yourself

Last sentence you're wrong again. You've been listening to Mirf too much.

As for yout stats you need to see the bigger picture.

When Rhodes plays no other striker gets a look in because Rhodes is unable to form a worthwhile partnership.

Alan Lee on the other hand is quite the opposite.

It's not rocket science

I totally agree with Cas and Cryer, Rotherham, Ipswich and Palace fans all liked Lee, Happen he was played to his strengths and was a good foil for whichever smaller quicker player partnered him up top.
I would have him starting every game and then pull him off around the hour mark and then bring Novaks fresh legs on, But then again Clarks doesnt seem to value building up partnerships does he ??
Central defence, Centre midfield or up top !
Why on earth did Clark bring him in ?
He obviously did well for us on Clarkys PC manager game, Just as the 451 system won him the league at a canter.
