Hey Leicester fans!
Just want to say a massive congratulations on your return to the premier league from a very grateful Doncaster Rovers fan. Today I think I experienced every emotion under the sun but one thing that shone through was the unity of football fans. I've just received the sad news that the Doncaster fan who was taken ill at the end of the game has unfortunately passed away and recall a large number of fans clapping as he was taken from the stadium. As always there are more important things in life than football and the only consolation I hope his family and friends can take from this is that he died doing what he loved.
On to the game itself I don't think i'm alone in thinking it wasn't a great spectacle. Rovers set up very defensively and created very little and it was nearly enough to see us over the line had it not been for the last minute Birmingham equalizer or the penalty (that watching the highlights on sky sports news i'm not sure was.) There were periods where you opened us up and could have easily had a couple more goals and at times I thought you were trying to do us a favor and we just couldn't capitalize!
Both sets of fans I thought were IMMENSE. It was by far the best away game I've been to in my life. I loved the banter between us both, the Leicester fans singing "staying up" to us and us singing "Champions" to you. I also loved the Mexican wave starting in the Donny end and carrying on all around the stadium several times. The support you gave Paul Dickov was fantastic and i'm sure he appreciated that too. I'm still smiling when remembering how upon hearing Birmingham had equalized some supporters started to sing "Let them score!"
I will continue to follow Leicesters progress next year and hope you can follow Crystal Palace's footsteps and secure yourselves as a very good Premier League team. I'm hoping we have a good season next year and have a good go at bouncing back but in truth at times we are a small ship in a big ocean!
Thanks for a fantastic day out Leicester!
Congratulations Leicester City

I was willing Donny to score. Probably would of jumped up and celebrated too.
Very sad about the fan who passed away. Was difficult to celebrate while watching medics trying to save him

Thanks for your kind comments and so sorry to hear about the fan who passed away.
Wonderful atmosphere today and many of us feel for Doncaster having been in exactly the same position 6 years ago. Being relegated turned out to be the best thing for us ultimately, allowed us to refocus and rebuild and I'm sure that will happen for Doncaster next year.

Donny - thank you for taking the time to post on our boards.
Firstly, we should acknowledge the very sad news of the Donny fan - on behalf of all the Leicester fans our thoughts are with the family.
Secondly, and less importantly on to football. All Leicester fans around me (and me included) wanted you to stay up. The game wasn't a great spectacle and the it needed your fans reaction to the Bolton goals to reignite the atmosphere which you did with aplomb. It was great fun after that and we were all passing news around as to what was happening with Brum. We were with you. Sadly we got the news they'd equalised. I actually wanted you guys to score as I having been at Stoke a few years ago, I know how horrible that feeling can be.
But I now have to be honest, I almost felt we were trying to let you score at one point and it became evident why you've slipped down - there was very little quality in the final 3rd.
We had a great party today and the Donny fans will always be remembered fondly by me as part of that. I'm sorry you went down and I'm sorry for your loss.
I hope you bounce back quickly - we had a great season in league 1. I hope yours is just as much fun.
Thanks for sharing our day.

It was a very lacklustre performance from drfc sadly. We set up to play for the draw which nearly worked but not quite. I personally would have preferred us to go for if as it was in our hands, but I can see from Dickovs point of view we could easily have been taken apart if that happened. We desperately missed Wellens in the centre of midfield who's been our player of the season since we signed him in January.
We will bounce back no doubt about that and as frustrating as the performance was today as we've realised there's more important things in life than football.

Thank you; It was a rather entertaining game. Brilliant play from both teams and I desperately wanted Doncaster to score to send birmingham down. The atmosphere was immense and I, like all of my friends, enjoyed the banter and definitely joined in the Doncaster chants. I have to admit I was wanting Leicester to score an own goal or anything, although thinking back, we'd probably be docked points or face a fine. R.I.P to the Rovers fan! Good Luck next season!

DBA,
I think you say everything that I would have said. As a club we have to move on and I am now looking forward to L1.
There will be major moves of players now but the club learned from the last relegation the expensive players will go and we rebuild on a lower budget.
I will stick with the board and I will tip YD to put a competitive team together next season.
A yo yo team springs to mind.
It was a great day for football the only sad note for me was the death of a supporter.
RIP my friend and my sympathy goes to the family.

Thank you Donny for such a thoughtful article under the circumstances. I can fully empathize with you this morning but hope you can bounce back again next season. As you quite rightly say there are more important things in life than football and my condolences to your fellow fan, how very very sad to read.
