Fletcher

Just watched today's goal again!! The lack of effort put in by Fletcher to block the cross leading to the goal just about typifies the attitude of most of the players this season. Whoever comes in as manager, sure hope he is a disciplinarian and kicks a*se!!

I don't understand the contradiction

If the corporate sponsors decide you should be a winner then you win

If they decide they want different winners then you stop winning

it's not complicated

sure you'll have a few outlier results but the bigger picture game is the same

If holland becomes the biggest commercial market in the world then Ajax will become 'bigger' than Manchester United over time

we're just here to watch the show

some are luckier than others as they 'support' the winners and feel good about it

"I think you have a very warped view of where you are 'supposed' to be in the global pecking order"

That's the contradiction saying I have a warped view but then saying it all depends on how much money you have. So yes I am right we are right up there in the world pecking order and it's not a warped view..it's a fact.

in recent years you've been given one of the largest slices of pie that should put you as a winner

unfortunately for you the glazers use a lot of that cash to pay their personal debts

but this is a recent thing

madrid and barca and munich and juve have been top dogs for much longer globally

in england United have always been near top or top. globally it's a new phenomenon

your attitude is that you've always been there and deserve to be when the reality is very different

who knows what next year will look like

The reality isn't different..we finished 7th so in playing terms we have dipped big time. Money wise we are right up there...match day revenue alone is £105m... double the nearest English rival in Chelsea. The clubs you mention haven't been top dogs for longer, nonsense. Juve were even demoted and disgraced. United dwarf them. Look at the richest sporting clubs over the last 15 years and you will see United there in top 3 every year

He's never been a top class player. NEVER. NOT ONCE.

Nothing against the guy and I'm grateful for all he's done for the club but keeping him would be for sentimentality and no more. He's nowhere near good enough for the level we need to get back to and fast.

In all honesty he is not as good as nicky butt was and nb was shipped out when he was around 28.

You're right it's not complicated, but it is complete and utter total garbage.

Fletcher was never great. He was a hard worker and at one time his donkey work perfectly supplemented the more talented players alongside him. Unfortunately, illness or no illness, when our midfield is genuinely useless, Fletcher has to go.

And I also agree that even at his best, it really was only one season. Sentiment has no place in football. Get rid

I find myself agreeing with a lot of what you post on a regular basis but this is an absolute load of rubbish. You're better than this.

Thew fact that fletcher was able to get back into the squad never mind the team after such a long time out sums up how bad the midfield was allowed to deteriorate in recent years.

We can't afford to do anything on the cheap this summer.

There wasn't one player on the pitch that started yesterday including the keeper that would be missed if they never played for Utd again. A sad state of affairs compounded by moyes but allowed to happen over the last 5 years by management and owners.
Front four of Rooney(playing well),Ronaldo,Berbatov and Tevez win c/l. Now we have past-it Rooney,Chicha who i love but is not gonna solve anything,Welbeck athlete over footballer and Throbbin Robin who isn't getting any younger.
No decent winger, midfielder or full back that can be relied upon and it is arguable that Powell,Anderson,Petrucci would have provided more than anything there at the moment. Shocking how bad that side looks.
