v QPR - thoughts?

Evening all.

Just wondering how confident people were feeling ahead of Saturday's clash? Will Moyes be brave and go 442?

Or will he just play 11 Victor Anichebes in a line in front of goal?

QPR had a disappointing start against Bolton but will come to Goodison one game wiser and as underdogs.

I hate to make predictions, but if I did, I can guarantee that I will have at least one significant rage between 3 and 5pm on Saturday...

What do you guys think the Vellios? I've only seen him in the odd pre-season game and he looked decent. Has he shown any more than that for the reserves? Seems to be highly thought of anyway.

A lot of the lads seem to have this campaign as being Baxter's year. I hope he gets a chance and grabs it

If we start 4-4-2 at home tomorrow, with Beckford & Saha up front and Anichebe on the bench for a full 90mins then I would be more than happy to lump my life savings on a win for us.

Sadly, like my fellow blues have already stated, this won't happen and we will struggle to beat all the teams that finished below us last season...again!

From what I have seen of Vellios I have been very impressed. Strong and a good hold-up player but also comfortable on the ball with an eye for goal. Still more development needed, but he actually reminds me a little bit of Graeme Sharp...which can only be a good thing, right?!

Despite the summer of discontent I am so happy to have footy back.
Really can't wait for the game. No doubt my mood will be shattered around 2.45 when I see team news with 451 Anichiebe on the wing.
I think this is going to be a tougher game than we think. QPR will have learned from last week and yesterday's take over will bring a feel good factor to them.

If we go at them score early it will be a rout. The longer we take to score or if they score can see the crowd kicking off getting on teams back and draw or loss.

Another thing to add during the friendly v villareal I noticed both the large screens were removed hope they are back. Can't beat celebrating a goal then watching the replay whilst bouncing around in the Gwladys.

Wouldn't swap DM for the World but he is tactically naive and dare I say even stubborn at times, I do not have anything personal against his current assistant Steve Round but I honestly believe that now Irvine is back he should swap places. Steve with all his on paper theories would be better off coaching the up anc coming youngsters and let DM and Irvine sort out the first Team.
