I suppose tonight is a prime example of how important goal difference can be. Brendan Rodgers said to the media earlier that if any team can make up a nine-goal deficit over the course of two games, Liverpool can. 3-0 up, smelling an opportunity in which to put real pressure on City, who can really blame him? Liverpool had to approach this final week of the season thinking that City would win their final two (home) games. Liverpool fans on this website for example were talking about making up the goal difference. How it could be done. And given Liverpool's scoring prowess this season, it can't be said that such comments were nothing but clutching at straws.
Optimistic comments yes, realistic comments, not really. But the bottom line remains, while the title is now very firmly within City's grasp, and City have come through their biggest obstacles they had to face in the closing stages of this season, nothing can be taken for granted. Two home games against teams we are expected to beat, but nevertheless two games in which to hold our nerve, two games in which anything can happen. Two games in which it can all go wrong for us.
But this weekend, City couldn't have expected as good a weekend. Chelsea drawing at home to Norwich, and tonight Liverpool drawing away to Palace. We can now afford one slip up (and by slip up, I mean, we can afford to draw one of our two remaining home games). It's looking favourable for us. It's now up to us not to slip up the way Liverpool and Chelsea have done.
Couldn't really ask for a better weekend

Pel wont be laughing at anything, he's been great this season but it will be very tough next year.

Fair play to you lot. Never let your heads go down and kept on getting the results when it mattered.
We tried hard, but ultimately came up short. I am a proud but bitterly hurt Reds fan right now, but I'm trying to keep perspective. Hopefully after a summer of investment we can have enough to challenge on all fronts again next season.
It's been a great title race, and it's been a good old contest between City and Liverpool pretty much all season. I hope a good natured rivalry springs from this (got nothing but respect for City fans), and also hope to be doing the same next season!

Tell me about it. I've spent more on bog roll in the last couple of months than I'd like to admit.

I have to steal mine from Aldi, I've used up the family bog roll allowance until 2017.
