What Next?

Alright lads!

What a great season we have had! 4th place the aim and we have far exceeded those expectations. Rodgers wanted 70ish goals this season and we have hit 99 with a game to go. He said we need to work on our set pieces to help contribute to the 70 goal target - Liverpool have scored more goals from set pieces this season than any other PL team.

What we have set out to do we have accomplished and more.

What I wonder now is how will we spend our summer? What would you expect Rodgers and co to do this summer regarding team building through transfers or the promotion of youth? Do we expect players to leave? Or are we likely to keep hold of all we have due to the fricken UCL to compete in!!!

This season has been so much fun, don't you think?

Not scoring enough is not what has cost us as all. I'm pretty sure in total, not doing the whole 10 goals minus 5 conceded equals 5 thing, we have scored more than city. However, what's cost us is our defence more than anything.

I'm not saying Sakho, Agger, Skirtel or even our keeper are bad - but they need to shape up and this is down to both them and Rodgers.

I'm as big a fan of his as we all are but he has let the defensive side slip unfortunately for an attacking team, which granted we love to watch, but now we either need a world class defender who can attack like Rodgers wants and actually defend or do more defensive drills in training!

It really has TKT, crazy as it sounds.

We can score even more goals.

More goals from the full backs, more goals from midfield. More goals from Sakho who should score as many as Skrtel has this season.

Set the bar high for yourselves this year, be interesting to see if you can keep it up.

Anything but at least 2nd place and 99 goals scored in th eleague will be an underacheiving season surely?
After all you all have said that being in Europe is not a distraction.

Don't be silly detective.

What we said was that no Europe is not the ONLY reason why we have mounted a strong challenge.

The main reason is we are good side.

Next season hopefully we will still be a good side.

My target for next season will be qualify for the CL again, win a domestic cup to get that monkey off of BR's back and get out of the CL group stage.

if you drop points, you didn't score enough goals

Detective
Our aims for next season will be to maintain our place in the CL and to go as far as possible in the CL. Not too high a bar.

Thats fair enough it's going to be a tough season for all of us next year as i think United will be up there again (As much as i hate to admit it)

I am not so sure they will be.

Likely to be a large turnover of players there.

They should be better than this season but it's still going to be tough for them.

A better manager is not going to transform them overnight because they have a lot of changes to make.

In that respect being out of Europe won't be a good thing because you need a lot of games early on for a new manager to work quicker.

That definitely helped us under BR last season. Games irons out the problems. Training can only do so much.

Also Utd will have a big squad of players many of which won't be getting game time and that in itself causes issues.

The next challenge for BR is strengthening the squad and then giving people enough game time to keep them happy.

Doing this without disrupting the flow too much will be a challenge.

No righteous, wrong. Kindly dispense with the "hopefully" bit. Also, we will be a better side.
