'We have been 128 days on top of the league so we won the stamina league, but we failed in some big games away from home'
Yes he really said that .
We've won the Stamina League

Get a sense of humour, OP.

I think possibly he was highlighting our ability to maintain a title challenge for a decent amount of time, even if it wasn't quite long enough...? But either way, it was said tongue in cheek with a smile on his face.

I don't see how I've taken it out of context, the really sad thing is some AKB's will and have already used that exact logic to claim we have progressed this season.

We quite clearly have progressed. That's barely debatable. We are only 7 points off the top and on course to end our trophy drought (touch wood touch wood touch wood). Is that not better than last season?

If United hadn't had their worse season for over 20 years would you still view this season as progress?

to expand yes, because we'd still have out highest points tally in years, cut the gap to the top of the table and probably win our first trophy in 9 seasons. not sure what United have to do with it.

If I woke up and my house had fallen down in the night, I would definitely consider it a bad start to the day.
It hadn't, today started pretty good. And the sun was out.
Our progress has pretty much nothing to do with Utd - we hardly snatched 6 point off them did we. Utd could be top of the table, if we were still just 7 points off in 4th with a good chance off winning the cup, it would be exactly the same as AL said,

Ah, should have read 8bit, said much the same thing.

What's better to win, the stamina league or 4th place?

Well if Moyes didn't do his best job destroying Fergies legacy within one season there's a good argument to be made that they would be in the top four. Basicallly last season they were 3 teams better than us in the league and there still is, we didn't mount a real challenge for the title even though we were top for a while and with 1 win in 6 against the other teams in top four I'd hardly call it progress.
Although I will concede if we do win the FA Cup I may have consider it progress.
