The Posh V The O's

Peterborough host Leyton Orient in the 1st leg of their Play off Semi-final.

Oh that there could be a repeat of our display earlier this season at London Road when we knocked Reading out of the Carling Cup 6-0.

As it is, the Eastenders will pose a greater threat. They beat us 3-1 at London Road in November, putting on the best display by an opposing team that I have seen this season.

They play better away better than at home, and so I would be quite happy with a draw on Saturday. To me, their danger man is Moody, and so I hope that our defence will be able to contain any counter-attack from him, Lisbie, and the rest of the Orient attack.

I'm also hoping that Assombalonga will be in scoring mood and adequately served by the rest of the team.

We've won all three of our previous play off competitions and won at Wembley in March, so we've got that going for us.

Looking forward to what will hopefully be a quality match against quality opposition.

C'mon the Posh!

Thanks guys.

, of those who played at Old Trafford, Mark Little, Tommy Rowe and Stuart McCann will be available for selection. I doubt that McCann will start as he's getting on a bit, but Little and Rowe are both now at their prime and playing well. Here's hoping that we will be able to resume our tussles next season.

TF, I'd be delighted if you could invite me to the Walker Stadium for the visit of my other real team, although I suspect that tickets will be like gold dust - I'll start saving after Wembley!

Don, here's hoping that bliss prevails.

After watching the mind numbingly boreing football dished up by Wigan and QPR in their play-off semi final first leg, I'm hoping that Posh and Orient will treat us all to a much more entertaining display. On paper, Orient should win through to the play-off final at Wembley, but Posh have done it all before, and with Assombalonga hopefully firing on all cylinders, could well do it again.

An Assombalonga hat-trick tomorrow would be nice.

A wet blustery start to the day.

Hope the pitch doesn't cut up to spoil the quality of the football, and that the sun appears by 12.15pm.

I hope so too TP. It was raining steadily on my Peterborough garden at 6am this morning, but has now stopped. Rain before seven, sun before eleven, I hope.

, and enjoy the game - I'll be on the right side of the London Road End.

Relieved to come away from that with a draw, as we failed to come out in the second half. Not the quality game I had hoped for, partly because of the blustery conditions and bobbly pitch.

Looking forward to Tuesday, when, hopefully, Mark Little will be better used (and when we can only play better than we did today).

At least it didn't rain during the match. I sometimes wonder if the Posh players really do want Championship football next season? Darragh certainly does, but what of Fergie and the rest? We'll have our answer Tuesday evening when Posh should win through for a Wembley meeting with Preston, I hope.

The Posh players were a bit like rabbits caught in the lights of a motor car. Maybe, home pressure got to them. Maybe, that pressure will transfer to Orient on Tuesday night and we will see a different Posh emerge.
