So we finally had a Defensive Mid on the pitch? I didn't make the game but can anyone tell me if we looked more secure at the back because of this.

It was against Villa so hard to tell. This was probably one of the few matches where we didn't actually really need a defensive mid...

You're talking about Sandro, I presume?
Well, obviously we were more secure, we won.

Looking more secure and winning aren't necessarily the same thing but I take your point.

I take your's too.
Sandro has always been a key to getting this team to succeed. Dunno wot Sherwood's been thinking, leaving him on the bench.
With Sandro on, Paulinho plays his natural game.

We must always play a DM home and away wether its Sandro or capoue. Apart from being a shield in front of the back four it leaves other midfielders more freedom to play their natural game.
Too often this season the likes of Paulinho and Dembele have been playing with shackles on.

Sherwood must be thinking what if? What if i wasn't soo stubborn? There's a reason a player makes it to international status. yet he refused to respect that.
Paulinho looked a different player next to Sandro. Football is more about combinations and tactics than who runs the hardest in training.
