200k a week for Terry

I dont normally believe wages in the papers but given how the ABUs believe every figure that is ever put on Wayne Rooneys head even when they conflict I am going to push ahead with this.

This is surely the biggest waste of money ever for a player his age to actually be getting what appears with incentives to be a pay rise?

He really does have some one by the nads down there doesnt he

Him and Cahill were the best cbs in the league last year and is only a 1 year extension is it not? No biggie.

Ok drop the ABU hats for just a moment

That's 10m quid we are talking about for a club who already skirt close to the line with FFP already

You can say him and Cahill were best Cb partnership if you believe that but the way chelsea set up guarantees a great defensive record

I'm surprised he hasn't been moved on and replaced with a younger better CB as part of Mourinhos plan

Oh wait, he doesn't know how to develop youth

Can't cost us anymore then signing a new player with a sign on few, transfer and agent fee, and contract can it you donut? And Cahill and terry were just best cbs in the league not just the best pairing. Rarely played under a 7/8. And u can go on about how Chelsea played we had one of the highest possessions if not the highest over the course of the season.

But u got out ur actual point in ur last sentence so stop hiding behind rubbish. do some research come back with a point or just carry on colouring in ur books.

It took 8 comments but there we go

Down the west end you have to pay a lot more to get a rent boy like you to bite like that

Don't like the bloke but he played well this season and obviously Chelsea see him as that important. Fair enough. Now I would be more impressed if Maureen manages to get Varane which should be unthinkable in reality but just might not.
We should be in for him !

We are actually looking very healthy with respect to FFP

Why do people not believe the wages the papers quote? I know some will say the club does not disclose wages but the players pay tax, right? They have bank accounts, right? There are secretaries in the office, right? People who work for payroll, right? Accountants, right? Auditors, right?

So many people know what these guys are on and to think the papers make it up is just delusional

People don't believe the wages that papers quote because there is a tendency for sensationalisation, which sells more papers. Various sources disagree on exact figures, and there are various bonuses which may or may not be paid, which will probably all be factored in to make for a juicier figure.

I imagine the payment situation for some players, that is, the more famous ones, is complicated - agents must be factored in and image rights confuse the situation.

Agreed, but their basic wage is subject to tax and N.I. so it is really not that difficult to find out what they are on

Okay, so it's not hard to find out their basic. I just have an unbelievably hard time believing that JTs basic is 200k/week. Or that Rooney's is 300k/week. That seems like a final, all inclusive, rounded up for good measure figure.
