Sagna - A great servant to the club & on the verge of legendary status. But, it's obvious that he is leaving. Would be good if he went abroad. However, rumors abound that he is going to move within the league - if true, probably going to be Man City, Man--Ure or Chelsea
Don't know how to feel about this... Always thought Sagna was Arsenal through & through but not so sure anymore. If you are going to jump ship, go to another country. At least the Dutch skunk let us make some $$ from his defection and didn't wait to run his contract down ensuring we would get zilch.
One of the best rb's in the league leaving on a free to a direct rival - someone at the club needs a slap for this situation.
Oh, and the petty bitter man within me would play Jenko in the final.
Sagna

sagna is probably bitter for giving us the prime of his football life in exchange for zilch trophies, and who wouldn't be, we should wish him all the best, honestly I would like him too stay but wouldn't mind that much if he moves , think we need our rb to be much more attacking, need a dani alves type of player

It's a massive blow. Jenkinson is not ready yet and it's going to take time for a new signing to get used to playing in the prem.
We won't ever get him but I would prefer if he went for someone like Coleman.
Even he doesn't have the defensive capabilities of sagna

Coleman is just a slightly improved jenkinson, there are RB's out there will fill the void left by sagna very well, not too bothered about him going

The problem is simply that he and his agent want more than the club are prepared to pay with a 3 year contract. I can understand where the club are coming from but another club with no limits will easily pay what he wants.

I would play Jenkinson ni the final but not being smallminded or bitter, its just that we should win with him playing (but I know, Wigan last year) and need to be looking to the future. If Fabianski and Sagna are leaving they should not play as there will be no benefit from giving them the experience but there will be if Jenkinson and Szcz get a taste of lifting a trophy.

Bloody hell it's cheery on here tonight. Sagna wants to leave - whether that's for another country or the biggest wage remains to be seen, but I certainly harbour no ill feelings towards him. We've 100% had his best years, including a stint when he was right up there with any RB in Europe, and so far he's got no silverware in return. Ultimate pro who's given everything despite deciding to leave. There's also not much the club - any club - can do if a player makes his mind up that he wants to leave. He's not worth to us what City can afford to offer, so I'll wish him all the best and look forward to seeing someone who can actually cross next season!
Certainly some parallels with Clichy, imo. Good pro, gave 100% but struggled to maintain the same standards of a few years back, for one reason or another. No hard feelings about the departure, and it might also see us promote Jenko á la Gibbs. Hopefully we'll sign someone else as first choice with more experience, but I do think CJ has the talent to be our first choice. He's always better when he has a run of games than one here or there, which would suit being a starter.

Considering people moaning about paying Pod £100k a week I imagine having Sagna on the same money aged 34 would rub some people the wrong way.
That said, I do wish there was some way to meet in the middle, as two/three more seasons for him to hand the baton to Jenks while being able to help out at CB would be perfect, especially given Bellerins age

He is nowhere near being a legend but he's been an excellent player for us and wish him well wherever he goes. Bestie.. agree with the Clichy/Gibbs comparison. Gibbs came in and was an improvement straight away, Sagna is half the player he used to be and Jenks is underrated because he's a £1m signing from Charlton. on ability and performances in the last 2 years there is nothing between them.

I still haven't seen any of you moany fúckers suggest exactly how the club could have realistically got Sagna to stay? Offer him 150 grand a week for 3 years? That's the best part of £25 million! Do you not understand that this would be absolutely ludicrous business???
But of course the club is always in the wrong, always someone "needs a slap" etc...

How about not signing/paying muppets like Park & Bendtner to do faack all and use that money?
Guess I'm gutted that Sagna, a man who mashed the sperz (who can forget the 5-2), ignored RVP in the tunnel after he left, a man that I thought understood what it meant to being a Gunner would leave to go to a direct rival in the league.
We can't be buying quality like Sylvester the cat (selling him is still Red nose biggest achievement in the game - although hand picking Moyes runs it close) from our rivals and seeing players of the quality of RVP leaving. It's got to stop.
