Most Memorable United Game?

Manchester United have been involved in some titanic games down the years, and some unforgettable moments. Who can forget the manner in which they won the European Cup in injury time in 1999?

But there have been other key seasons in the clubs restoration to the elite in the early 1990s, and key games within that season. Some will point to the win over Sheffield Wednesday in 1993, utilising the full six minutes of added time to turn around a one-goal deficit and claim a victory that virtually settled the destiny of the title.

Maybe others will remember the trouncings; hammering Ipswich 9-0 (a victory which is perhaps diluted by the fact that they failed to land the title that year), destroying Arsenal 8-2, or Solskjaer's 4 goal haul in the last ten minutes of the 8-1 thrashing at Nottingham Forest.

Perhaps some have earmarked the European Cup victory in 1968 as the key result in the clubs ascent to the pinnacle, a win which elevated them above anything this country had previously achieved, and allowed the to join the greatest of clubs in that golden 1960s era. Was that the springboard that launched them to the position of being (one of) the biggest club in world football?

But which game linger longest in the memory for you? Is there one game that stands out above the others because of its importance?

Conversely, lets have the matches that live in the memory for the wrong reasons. It could be a simple loss in a cup final, or a disastrous result that typified a decline in the club's fortunes. An example might be the last day loss to Manchester City in 1974 that confirmed their relegation to the second tier.

*note: this is on the Manchester United board....

Well my first and most vivid memory as a kid was being beaten in the FA Cup final by Everton in 1995.

2-1 vs Arsenal in the FA cup semis in 1999. I was all over the place watching it with my Uncle. He was getting p1ssed off with me as I wouldn't sit still. When Schmeichel saved that penalty I basically wet my pants. Then Giggs scored and I didn't think I'd ever see a better goal.

PLUS I hated Arsenal at that point. I'll always remember watching that game.
