If Vincent Kompany didn't have the misfortune of being Belgian, he may well realise his dream of adding the World Cup to his trophy haul of PL, FA Cup and League Cup.
But is this a realistic ambition? Of course, every player dreams of lifting the World Cup, and being ambitious is part of being a modern footballer, but realistically, this one will surely elude him?
However, perhaps he may get his hands on the European Cup one day? But will he need to join another club to do so?

A lot of very good footballers have been unfortunate to be born in a 'small' country in International football terms and never had the opportunity to win anything on the World stage... Vidic, Giggs to name only two recent players

Add George Best to that list

II think you're all vastly underrating Belgium.
They have a strong settled squad with depth, while the usual suspects are not at their strongest:
Spain and Italy are in decline.
Germany seem to be misfiring.
Brazil are unusually weak.
France are out of form.
Argentina are their usually disorganised selves.
Belgium could win x

City will win the Champions League, I just hope Vinny is still in the team when we do it.

He's got about 5 years with us to do it. The WC is a bit harder because you can't buy it (unless you are Qatar of course!).

Someone's got to 'buy' it so it might as well be us.
