Sebb Blater -Awarding WC to Qatar a mistake

Blatter didn't vote for it to be held in Qatar.

What he's doing right now is politicking ahead of his reelection campaign. He's beginning the process of removing himself from this decision, and highlighting those who did back it.

Those who did back it, by the way, include all the people who are potentials for standing in his way come his reelection. People like Platini.

Sepp Blatter is a very clever man. It's how he's stayed in power for so long.

Qatar is a brilliant choice for a World Cup venue. Sepp

In the end, I quite like the idea of a World Cup in winter. First, it won't clash with my summer holidays, and secondly, we might get the chance to see the national teams with their players in full form rather than the best ones totally knackered at the end of 60game+ seasons.
